  1. Great, thanks Chesil and Aralia! I've asked Weave about it and will check it out on Amazon too .
  2. Have any of you read The Radleys by Matt Haig? Or know someone who has? I just wondered - I was just going through some old mags and I saw it featured from December 2010.
  3. Oops, I just realized that by tomorrow you meant today, which is Sunday! Since I don't work, I'll be there in chat.
  4. I've decided to start The Seance by John Harwood .
  5. I'll still be at work at that time, but will try to make the next one. Great idea!
  6. And here I thought there was only the Smiths song with that title - who knew there was a book too?? Excellent. And excellent tune as well .
  7. I finished The Hunger Games last night and am itching to get my hands on the second book! In the meantime, I'm contemplating my next read...
  8. The Ring is an excellent film, no-1-book-fan! You're right, it is disturbing, but a good kind of creepy and so much better (IMO) than a scary slasher film. I watched Tetro last night, which has been in my queue forever. I'm not sure what goes through Vincent Gallo's mind, but I'm sure part of it must be a little off. It wasn't as strange and obscure as I was expecting, since I could actually follow a story and understood the plot, but it had it's parts of being completely pretentious. I'm not sure I see Gallo the same way I did before .
  9. I'm finally watching Tetro .
  10. Oh no, I hadn't heard that Peter Faulk died . R.I.P. The flooding is very bad in North Dakota, and I feel so sorry for those who'll be displaced by it. Minot and surrounding towns are bracing for the Souris River to overflow. So much of this has happened this year! I know it's due to the record snowfall we had in winter, but man, enough with the weather-related hardships please.
  11. Ha! I'm afraid you might be disappointed, Hyzenthlay. which is highly unfortunate!!
  12. Oooooh AHHHH, Weave, that is fabulous!!

    Hey

Hello and welcome to BCF, Keeley! Glad to have you .
  14. "Right before we parade onto the stage, Haymitch comes up behind Peeta and me and growls, "Remember, you're still a happy pair. So act like it." The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
  15. Great review, Weave! I've had this one on my wishlist for awhile and I'm glad to hear you liked it, since that means I probably will too!
  16. Yeehaw!!! I loved that book, Frankie. Definitely in my list of top reads .
  17. OMG don't lose track of that box, Paula!! Hopefully Matthew's vibes will be calling you through the cardboard so that won't happen . Please promise me you'll read it soon!
  18. I hope you get to read it soon, Paula! I know you would love the story, and doubly love Matthew! You will swoon, believe me .
  19. Synopsis via Powell's Books: Just days before a massive exhibition opens at the popular New York Museum of Natural History, visitors are being savagely murdered in the museum's dark hallways and secret rooms. Autopsies indicate that the killer cannot be human... But the museum's directors plan to go ahead with a big bash to celebrate the new exhibition, in spite of the murders. Museum researcher Margo Green must find out who-or what-is doing the killing. But can she do it in time to stop the massacre? This is the first book I'd read of Child and Preston's, and I must say I liked it a lot! Mostly I'm a big reader of plot-driven books, but every once in awhile I just want something where I don't have to think so much and can just get swept up in a suspenseful, edge-of-my-seat kind of book. Needless to say it was character-driven, but it was something I needed after finishing the huge Discovery of Witches. Any book set in a museum will get my attention, so throw in some really likeable characters and a creepy beast running around killing people is just good fun! The folklore behind the beast and how it came to nocturnally wander the halls of a museum was very intriguing, and in my mind not too far-fetched. Plus it had a nice surprising hook at the end which I was not expecting. All in all, I'd recommend this one if you just need a weekend read, and I'll for sure be looking at other books in the series.
  20. Can't wait, Kylie! I've heard only good things about it .
  21. Some episodes of Bones from season 1. I'm turning the TV off soon though since the baseball game will be on the radio and I plan on listening .
  22. I thought it was very scary, but I'm more easily scared than others! I couldn't read it at night though, that's how creepy it was.
  23. Excellent book, Sofia! I decided to start The Hunger Games tonight.
  24. I finished Relic last night. I don't know what came over me, but I couldn't stop reading and then when I got close I was convinced I had to finish . I believe I'll start The Hunger Games next, but I'll let that sit in my brain today (along with my review of Relic) and see tonight if it's truly what I'm in the mood for.
