  1. Ah, yes, we love hockey! And you know, I just discovered yesterday that the lovely Mr. Modano is 39! A perfect age for me .
  2. Alright, youthful is way better than freaky, ii . And yes, I put all the blame on my avatar, Roxi. Seriously. One venti (this is Starbucks, remember, they use silly words for sizes) triple espresso coming up! I think I'll get one too... Thanks for input on my freakness, Rawr . And shhhhhhi'm37shhhhhhhh.
  3. Oh, no. Now I'm stressing and wondering just how much of a freak I really am! I think I'll go to Starbucks now and mull this over...
  4. What?? Do I act like an old lady? A pre-teen loser????
  5. Something involving chicken, as a topping to a salad. I bought romaine heads today at the market and the furthest out use-by date I could find was the 10th , meaning I need to have as many salads as possible by Tuesday or Wednesday! Ah well.
  6. I'm inching towards the higher end of the 31-40 category, scary! Where have the years gone?? Seriously, man... No mid-life crisis on the horizon though for me, although do women really have those? Oh wait, maybe mine takes form in an obsession with the undead and the actors who play them... Yep, I'm in trouble.
  7. Hey there and welcome to BCF, Dusky! You sound like you'll be right at home here .
  8. Hello and welcome to BCF, Tiernan! Glad you joined us .
  9. Well I know the scene by the truck with the kiss is after the party, but what about when they show him talking to her in the Cullen living room and he says something to the effect of - "You're my only reason to stay, alive, if that's what I am." Was that in the book? And is it before the throwdown with Jasper or just after?
  10. I sure hope you have oil for your mince there, dude! Tonight am having happy hour food, woo-hoo!
  11. *sigh* There's that research word again. What a silly, SILLY question, Charm!!! Can you take turns reading it??
  12. Thanks for the clarification, Chesilbeach! That was bothering me, and I lent my copy to a friend so I don't have one at home to look in . Of course now I'm in the mood for it when it's not there for me to read . You guys that saw the trailer for NM, do you remember the snippet of a scene where they showed Bella and Edward talking at his house before the party? I can't remember the dialogue, but did that scene even happen in the book?
  13. I'm seeing chicken in my future, and shitake mushrooms... and WINE! Lots of white wine . Maybe a little garlic, a little orzo, yum.
  14. YEAH!!! Can't wait for November .
  15. Yeah, I seem to remember the lovely line about heroin, LOL. Was that in the book or only the screenplay? Glad you finally got to see the film, Chesilbeach! I'll sound like a broken record and again say that if you get a chance, watch it now with the commentary on. It's hilarious, but interesting at the same time to hear about how they made the movie and how they worked different parts of the book into the film. I wonder if SM is going to make an appearance in all 4? Is she trying to pull a Hitchcock or something?
  16. We are on the same page Book! I agree completely about Marty and the eww-known-as-Logan. And yeah, Gil was hilarious in that role. Every time I saw him I had the urge to pull out my old Skid Row tapes and listen to '18 and Life' and 'I Remember You,' . Bach has the quintessential hair metal voice.
  17. Okay, so as a stand-alone film I will give Kubrick some credit, but grudgingly . Hedge animals can kick the butt of a hedge maze any time and any place though! I also will never forgive Kubrick for what he did to poor Halloran, but ah well, what can you do??
  18. I'm afraid that I will have to respectfully disagree with my friend here on this one . I enjoyed the novel so much more than the film and thought it was far superior. While the film is a different take on the story, why did Kubrick bother doing an adaptation if he was going to completely change key points? I know that you can't necessarily copy a book from page to screen exactly, but for me, I thought the struggle existing within Jack Torrance was much more believable in the book, and I thought the ending in the book was more interesting. Who knows, maybe I just have a problem with the gentleman in Rawr's avvie over there, but that's another story. Stand By Me was an excellent adaptation of King's short story, The Body, but I guess I like the movie better because it just expounded on the short story. I think that's the only case of a book I've read that has a better film adaptation.
  19. Am I the only one on Team Marty??!! I loved that kid, and Rory never saw him as more than a friend, unfortunately. Otherwise I completely agree with what's been said about Jess and Logan. Ugh, I can't even type Logan's name without shuddering, LOL. BookJumper, are you talking about Sebastian Bach, the guitarist in Laine's band? The former hair-metal frontman for Skid Row? He was hilarious in GG! If that's who you're talking about that is .
  20. I still thank my mom to this day that she took us kids to the local library so much while I was growing up. Aside from the usual 'I need a new book' trips, we also went weekly to Story Time. I still have my name tag saved with a lil panda bear and my name on it .
  21. Ewwww Digger. He was even worse than Max! I remember seeing that first version of Luke's Diner and how different it was. It didn't even have a corner door, did it? And remember those young guys that were hitting on both Lorelei and Rory? Can you imagine a GG without Luke though? What a scary thought.
  22. Hmmm, I think I'm allowed to call someone who writes song lyrics an author, right? If so, I would say John Frusciante and/or Chris Cornell. The 'and' comes in if it's still legal in the state of Utah!!
  23. Have a couple appts after work today so I won't be getting home until 8pm or so. Guess I'll have to grab a coffee and scone somewhere along the way for dinner - what rotten luck!
  24. I'm kind of a late bloomer with this show, but have been watching it a lot more since I cancelled my cable subscription. I love Gibbs! Everyone in the show is great .
  25. Couldn't have said it better myself!!
