Hello!

Hello and welcome, Green!
2. Ohhhh, that explains why all the commercials were saying 'preview episode!' I'll have to watch it on YouTube tonight - hopefully it'll come back in the fall too!
3. He's my fave too, Nicola!! We have good taste . I just checked IMDB, and it's out in the UK in October and here in November.
4. I've been seeing commercials for this, Bethany, but of course forgot to watch the first episode last week. I don't recognize anyone in the cast except for Jane Lynch, who I know from all those hilarious Christopher Guest films, but hopefully I'll get to see the next episode!
5. Wes Anderson is directing (one of my faves) and I guess all the Wes people are back doing voices for the movie. George Clooney, Owen Wilson, Willem Dafoe, Meryl Streep, Bill Murray, Jason Schwartzman and Angelica Huston. Can't wait!!
6. Just whipped up some homemade hummus so I'm having a late lunch of that and pita chips. I'm running behind today so dinner will be late as well, and that'll involve ground turkey. That's all I know so far .
7. Star Trek was a fun one, SweetiiPie! Hope you like it . I think I posted wanting to see Shutter Island and Sherlock Holmes, but I thought of a few others: It Might Get Loud The Boat That Rocked Paper Heart Public Enemies Moon Year One The Brothers Bloom A Serious Man Fantastic Mr. Fox Oh, and if I haven't already mentioned it, NEW MOON!!!! Of course.
8. Oh my that chicken sounds really good, Nici! I had leftovers from my lunch out today - fish tacos, yum!
9. Hey there and welcome back, Nicnic!
10. Love the one for today! Mary Cassatt was a wonderful artist. The Natl in DC has one I've always loved of hers called 'Children Playing on the Beach.' Happy BDay, Mary!
11. I am unabashedly on Team Edward and I will not deny it! However, if he was benched for some reason or if I could pick a b-squad, I would also be on Team Jasper . No Jacob for me, and to steal a quote from another board, I would gladly La Push him off a cliff .
12. All I could grab was Sascha and my purse, which happened to be sitting on the table by my front door. Literally, I had only a minute or so because the fire was coming in so fast through the balcony doors. My mom was there too so I had to make sure she got out the door safely. It was awful . I still feel guilty sometimes that I couldn't find Owen, but there just wasn't time.
13. Heya and welcome, Sarah! Hope you have fun here with us fellow addicts .
14. Welcome to BCF, Karen! Glad you joined us .
15. Thanks guys! Yeah, Sascha (my cat) kept walking by the shelf so I finally just sat her down and made her pose for the pic, LOL. Gyre, that cat picture on the left is something one of my sisters drew years ago and I've always loved it. I finally framed it and hung it up. Bethany, there was a fire in the apt below mine and luckily I came out fine but unfortunately Sascha's brother Owen didn't make it . I only had minutes to grab what I could and she just wasn't as quick as her brother so I grabbed her and ran. But I agree, cats are great and I can't imagine my life without them.
16. Here are a couple photos of my book shelves. One is the pretty one in my living room (complete with cat) and the other is a couple stuffed in my closet. I have one more not pictured but it's half filled with DVDs and was a bit messy so I didn't bother taking a pic. Mind you, before the fire 3 years ago I had SO many more books, but this is what I've managed to build back up since losing most of them.
17. Yum, that chicken sounds really yummy, Bethany! Not doing the veggie thing anymore? I took chicken out of the freezer this a.m. so hopefully it'll be thawed and ready for the chicken/orzo/fontina bake that I'll be making when I get home . Lots of yummy garlic and white wine for it to swim in!!
18. Wonderful review for a truly wonderful book, Bethany! I have many good memories as well of reading this book when I was young and several summers thereafter.
19. I printed out that blog post, Kate, and will have a look at it tonight. I don't know much about Mormonism, so it will be interesting to hear the argument. Wiggy, which book did you get off eBay, the first in the series? Have fun with it!!
20. Welcome to BCF, Debs! Hope you like it here with us .
21. Hiya Martine and welcome! Glad you found us .
22. The big chains here in the States are Borders and Barnes & Noble. I usually go to B&N because there seem to be more of them and also because Borders is a bit more expensive. OH! And B&N serve Starbucks coffee . There is a great huge one downtown that I love to visit because up on the top floor you can sit in big chairs with your coffee and look out at the other big buildings and people and traffic. For some reason I enjoy that, LOL. Lately though I'm more often at Half Price Books, which is a great used shop that always has something I'm looking for.
23. Not going to be home tonight for awhile, so am contenting myself with a latte for now. I have leftover chicken/spinach florentine waiting for me though .
24. You can say that again, Glowmay!! I just need to figure out how to induce these dreams that people keep talking about on this thread, which I never seem lucky enough to have .
25. Yay, Frankie for starting this thread!! Thank you . I only have the first season but I would still be happy to discuss any season's episode's since I've seen them so many times, save for the final season, which I've only seen through once. I had no idea there was a book list of Rory's around, so I will hunt it down and have a look! I do like that first season's episode when Richard ends up in the hospital. Luke is so funny, not being able to look at any sick person without feeling faint himself. And ugh, don't get me started on Max. Yuck.
