  1. I have started In Pursuit of the Propper Sinner from Elizabeth George today.
  2. That is just what I do. But I keep on wondering whether it could be possible, that her memory can come back or if she could live a normal life after knowing what happend. And since the real mystery of this book to me hasn't been what happened (as a matter of fact, I began to wonder that very late into the book) but if she could come back to normal once. And since that mystery hasn't been solved...
  3. If you would want to read a certain book, Larry, can you find it? If I had so many books, I would drown in a complete chaos and never know, where I could find it.
  4. I don't think they are translated into German yet, but I'm sure they will send them ASAP. And probably in an endless repetition, as we have some TV stations here, which are doing that with every series they have bought.
  5. Welcome to the forum, Honeygirl!
  6. I've finished this book some time ago and the only thing I was unsatisfied with is the end. It's not that I didn't like it. It's just that there was a day missing to me. There should have been something about how she woke up after that last day. Just to see if there was a happy end for her or not.
  7. I finished For the sake of Elena from Elizabeth George today and read a bit of Arctic Dreams and started a new novel.
  8. Given that even the native speakers struggled with that book, no wonder I couldn't cope with it. But on that few pages I read, I had the same feeling than poppyshake. He could have used one short sentence rather than five long ones. But I enjoyed picking up an English novel afterward. Such a fast and easy reading.
  9. Perhaps I'll give it a second try, but without any time pressure, reading a few sentences at a time.
  10. I wanted to join this months reading circle and already started that book. But I quit it after a few pages. Reading classics in a foreign language isn't easy and I couldn't really follow his long sentences and had the feeling, he only assambled words and nothing ever happend.
  11. I've read some books about aviation but I think airline accounting would be the most thrilling. On the other hand, if a good comedian would write about it, there are some funny stories to be told.
  12. And don't forget the naked tourists there...
  13. I have heard of it but I think it doesn't refer to the normal breaking of the waves at the shore but to some algae which shimmer in the dark. Unfortunately I never saw it.
  14. I don't read in different accents, but the characters in the books sound a bit different from each other.
  15. I could tell some funny stories about my work. But I don't think, somebody would read Stories of an Accountant, would you? Even if my job isn't as dryly and uninteresting as it sounds, there are certainly jobs you could tell more about and would rather read about.
  16. What a nice poem, Kell. And a great thing to support.
  17. The album Moonfleet and other stories from Chris de Burgh
  18. I'm on page 150 now and everything Ben tells Christine (or doesn't tell her and why not) still makes perfect sense. It's just a repetition of always the same days, but it's written so geniously.
  19. I'm reading this book right now, along with two others, and I'm also fascinated. Hard to imagine, though, to wake up every morning just to find out that you missed at least 20 years of your life and that you don't know anybody you have contact with. And to know you can't do anything that takes more than a day.
  20. I only read two of her books Change of Heart and My sisters keeper Change of heart could have been good, if it didn't resemble The Green Mile that much. She should have left out the wonders and concentrated more on the moral discussion. My sisters keeper was brilliant.
  21. On the other hand, how could you promote a film without releasing some details or scenes of it? Mostly, if you see the whole movie, it's very different because of the context.
  22. I finished Jodi Picoult - My sisters keeper and started a book from Joy Fielding
  23. I only buy pocket books, so I don't have any book, which is valuable enough to do such things.
  24. That doesn't solve the problem with the real books you already have.
  25. I drink a cup of tea and read a little before I leave the house. And the better the book the longer it takes to finish the tea. There are some books which are so good to read that I simply can't stop.
