  1. Welcome to the forum, Steve. That novel sounds interesting. I'm training Karate since 4 years but only have the 6th kyu.
  2. Hi lyndz! Reading at work? Are you reading for a publisher?

I'm doing Karate since four years and I love it. A friend of mine did Ninjutsu for some time and enjoyed it.
  4. Welcome to the forum, Jade. I read Rebecca and I liked it. 6 children sounds like a full time job.
  5. Welcome to the forum, edison. Tell us something more about you.
  6. Most of the times I only know that the author has an English name, but I usually don't know if they are British or American. And there are good (and bad, of course) authors on either side of the Atlantic.
  7. Welcome to the forum! I've also read the complete Harry Potter series and likes, but I never became that big fan. I tried Terry Pratchett once, but I didn't catch his way of humor.
  8. Welcome to the forum, Gareth1 I attended a reading circle for a few years but gave up on it when my free time became a bit limited and I wanted to read what I chose. The circle began chosing three to four thick books per month and thats very close to my pensum.
  9. Lynda! I've toured through east Australia a few years ago and I liked it, but I never came to Adelaide. Lynda! I've toured through east Australia a few years ago and I liked it, but I never came to Adelaide.
  10. Hi Sue! One of the new faces here.
  11. Welcome, Pete! I think you will enjoy it here. What kind of books do you read?
  12. When I liked the writing or story (or if his stories are particularly foundated) of a certain author very much, I read more from him. But I don't look for the author but flip through some books rather arbitrarily before I decide. On the other hand, if I didn't like the style of an author I won't choose him again.
  13. Welcome, Dawn! Don't worry, we don't kill you if you make a mistake.
  14. I finished Jack & Jill - James Patterson today, and I think, I wouldn't read anything from him again. It sounded like a normal crime mistery but turned out to become a big conspiration involving renegades from the CIA. I don't like THAT sort of novels.
  15. I fried some beans with egg and cheese.
  16. Welcome to the forum, Carl! As you have been talking about Moby Dick here: I've read it a few years ago and I enjoyed it. But sometimes I have books where I find it hard to make it through from the first pages.
  17. Try Lara Joh Rowland. She wrote a series of mysteries with a samurai playing detective. The Tale of Genji is one of the most famous classics in Japan.
  18. Mostly I have cereals, sometimes a slice of cake. And I drink a few cups of tea. Black, green, or herbal.
  19. I've started a novel from James Patterson today, but I don't quite get in his style of writing, its a bit confus to me.
  20. Mine grows quite naturally! Everytime I try to buy less, I even buy more... I try to get rid of some books now, though.
  21. Yesss! I figured out that much yet!!!
  22. Somewhere between 100 and 150. Not that much, as I see here.
  23. Great, Charm! Never read that much on one day! I started For the Sake of Elena from Elisabeth George
  24. Welcome to the forum, Babygiraffe! You've done the first step and you'll see it isn't that hard to settle in here!
  25. I always have trouble with the English names, espacially, when there are similliar ones in German.
