  1. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/8637541.stm That is how I would love to bow out of this world
  2. I have never read any Tess Gerritsen but am thinking about diving in. Although I have thoroughly enjoyed reading them thus far, I'm getting tired of the Sarah Linton series by Karin Slaughter where a crime happens on page 20 and its solved by page 200 scooby doo style. Why people live there I dont know because it sees more crime than New York in the 70's. Are Tess Gerritsen's storylines a bit 'meatier' ? and not so formulaic?
  3. Punk fans have been asked to observe a "minute of mayhem" as the funeral of Malcolm McLaren takes place later. The music impresario, manager of the Sex Pistols and fashion guru died of cancer in Switzerland two weeks ago at the age of 64. While the funeral will take place in the early afternoon, friends and fans are being asked to pay their own tribute at 12pm. "In celebration of Malcolm's life we are asking people to observe a minute of mayhem at midday," a statement on a website run by his son Joe Corre reads. "Put on your favourite records and let it rip!" Fans of one of the initiators of punk rock were given details of the funeral cortege so they could also pay their last respects to him. McLaren was diagnosed with mesothelioma in October last year It is a rare form of cancer and is usually linked to exposure to asbestos. Girlfriend Young Kim said she suspected it was linked to Sex, the shop he ran in London's King's Road in the 1970s, as it was the only place he had been in for any length of time. He and his then girlfriend, designer Vivienne Westwood, ran the shop together with McLaren hacking the ceiling out to go with the punk image. Highgate, the cemetery where McLaren is being buried, is the final resting place of many well-known figures including philosopher Karl Marx, author Douglas Adams, physicist Michael Faraday and entertainer Max Wall. http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/Showbiz-News/Malcolm-McLaren-Funeral-Takes-Place-At-Highgate-Cemetery-After-Sex-Pistols-Manager-Dies-Of-Cancer/Article/201004315612177?lpos=Showbiz_News_First_Home_Article_Teaser_Region_4&lid=ARTICLE_15612177_Malcolm_McLaren:_Funeral_Takes_Place_At_Highgate_Cemetery_After_Sex_Pistols_Manager_Dies_Of_Cancer ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ What song will you listen to, to honour his memory? I'm thinking I will go with this anyone else?
  4. So you agree Newcastle would finish lower midtable?
  5. That is pretty much what I was saying.
  6. I just dont think Newcastle are comparable with the likes of Wigan and would finish above them in the premiership thats what I meant with midtable.
  7. Just finished watching traffic cops, was on bbc 1 earlier tonight and was mainly in the city that I live and mostly showed the area that I grew up in. Says it all really.
  8. People put to much emphasis on the Premier League, Newcastle have sailed through the Championship, only one place they can go the premiership. If they were in the Premier League this year I cant see them being amongst the likes of Hull and Wigan, they would be above them.
  9. Maybe it is part of her character, but it spoils it for me, I like her voice but I cant look at her when she sings
  10. Lea Michelle's character cant remember the name, is really starting to annoy me, she looks like shes grimacing in pain when she sings, obviously they are miming i'm not thick:lol:, but I think she overplays it. Someone should tell her that less is more.
  11. Newcastle will do fine in the Premier League, it's where they belong. Just with the squad they have now they would finish mid table, a few additions which they can easily afford and they will be top half. I'd hate for my team to go up and get hammered every week, it would do morale no good whatsoever - see Derby County, the last time they were in the Premier League they didnt win a game all season now they are bottom half championship. The only good thing would be the money, but see Derby again as proof that that does you no good if you dont have morale and the fans behind you. I think if Swansea or Leicester went up through the playoffs this year they would both really struggle, it's Forest's year to go up I think.
  12. What about the premier league teams who are playing in europe this week? I heard on the radio Liverpool and Fulham are leaving today for games on Thursday, what a nightmare that would be! Newcastle are to good for the championship the sooner you sod off to the premier league the better, I hope you feel good about relegating poor Plymouth as well!
  13. I was disappointed Wigan won. Them staying in the premier league does mean that they owe my team 2 million, but I would have preferred Roberto Martinez having to come down here to sit in the away dugout, he would probably have needed a ring of police around him.
  14. The word 'dude' is mainly used in the UK now by middle aged, middle class men. I absolutely hate it when someone says it to me - 'you ok dude' Aghh go away! I am waiting for David Cameron to use it on his election campaign, i'll be amazed if he doesnt say it at least once.
  15. I was unaware of the rivalry between Leicester and Forest, pure ignorance on my part. Having 2 local rivalries in the playoffs would be fantastic, as long as Swansea and Leicester dont slip up now we'll be ok, but Blackpool are there ready to pounce at any chance they can get. Not sure how they will cope if it ends up being a swansea vs cardiff final, it takes the police 2 hours to get swansea fans to cardiff on derby day and that includes a helicopter, countles bikes and police vans, its barely a 45 minute drive usually. It will be SWP's worst nightmare to have to ferry both sets of fans down the same route, it will literally be a very dangerous weekend if there are swansea, cardiff, milwall, westham fans all in the same city. There are many genuine swans fans and i'm sure Cardiff fans who wouldnt go even though it could be the biggest day in the clubs history (if it happened). I think the 3D thing is going to be like the HD thing, huge fuss made about it when it first comes out and when you actually get to see it for yourself you think....is that it?.... 3dtv will become the norm over the next 10 years though I think as HD is now and it will just be another one of those things.
  16. A Swansea vs Cardiff play off final is edging ever closer and looking more of a possibility every day. Cardiff already confirmed in the playoffs and as long as Swansea dont up the next 2 games we will be there too. A South Wales Derby at Wembley would be insane The whole of the M4 corridor would be a war zone.
  17. Just finished watching the pilot of Prison Break, wanted to watch this show for years but never been able to get my hands on the first episodes..until now!
  18. I have a distinct lack of books that I want to read, the only 'new' book I have is Karin Slaughter A faint cold fear, but i've just finished a police/crime drama and want a break. All my other ones are books that I have half read multiple times. So i'm going to give His dark materials another go I think.
  19. Sorry it caught me out I spent about 20 mins looking for glee season 2 this morning with no joy before I realized. You can watch it online btw seemingly perfectly legally, keeping up with the American schedule rather than waiting a week for it to start on TV over here.
  20. so the 'new season' is actually a continuation of the first season and is epiode 14 series 1 rather than episode 1 series 2:roll:
  21. There is loads of stuff on youtube, their appearance on oprah is good to watch
  22. Youtube! This is Lea Michelle's she freaks out at the piano player it's actually not that impressive in hindsight, just made me laugh
  23. Have you seen the audition footage of the actors in glee? Lea Michelle's is so funny. I cant remember the last time I was so keen to see a tv series
