  1. I agree with the graphic scenes issue, I really don't like it, if I want graphic scenes, I'll go elsewhere, I don't like reading them in books. I don't mind if they just skim over it, but sometimes they make me wince, and I'm no prude! Ok, I read mainly chick lit, so I have to expect some graphic scenes, but certain books, such as Tasmina Perry's Goldigger's has completely put me off reading anything else by her purely because of the sex scenes in it, they're just way too much! (I'll get off my soap box now:lol:)
  2. OK thanks for all your help, I've just registered my first book on there so I'll see how I get on.

  3. Hehe yep, a great help!! I've just looked at the FAQ's too which I should have probably done in the first place! Now all I have to do is find a book to part with!

  4. OK thanks! I think actually doing it may help me get it a bit more, I've been looking at it for about an hour now, it does look like a really good concept, just need to properly figure out the mechanics of it now!

  5. Well I don't quite understand how you get books that haven't been released into the wild? If you can? Sorry, I know I'm being really stupid here!
  6. Aah thanks!! Not to sound stupid, but do you register your books on there even if you're not going to "release" them? That seems a bit pointless!

  7. Well I've just joined this, under the name amethyst23, and I have to say, I'm slightly confused, I don't really get it haha!! I didn't think I was that simple but clearly I am!
  8. Well after reading this post, I've just ordered The Bone Collector for my Dad as it's his birthday in a week and I was a bit stumped as to what to get him. I've seen the film and really enjoyed it, not sure if he's seen it though but this genre is his thing, I hope he enjoys it, would mean I can buy the rest of the series for the next few christmasses and birthdays hehe!
  9. Ohh they're beautiful too, everyone lives in such pretty looking places!!
  10. Spontaneous is normally the best way!
  11. Ooh wow, I love it! You're really talented!!
  12. Oh thanks! I like war fiction from both wars, although I am more familiar with WWII fiction. I'll add these to my TBR list
  13. Ooh I'll be adding this to my list too, it sounds really interesting, I like war based fiction as well so it ticks all my boxes!
  14. Aah Gyre they're beautiful, it looks like a really nice place. I've never been to Scotland but would really like to go there someday
  15. Yeah, it seems to deal with actual proper issues, well certainly in My Best Friends Girl and Goodnight, Beautiful anyway!! Have to say, The Cupid Effect was probably my least favourite of them all too!!
  16. I was sure I'd already replied on this thread but obviously not! Dorothy Koomson is one of my favourite authors, I've read all of her books and think she's brilliant and slightly different from the norm. She actually has a new book coming out soon called Ice Cream Girls I think, I had her newsletter through yesterday but haven't had a chance to look at it properly yet.
  17. haha Chrissy you sound just like me! I'm completely addicted to buying books on ebay at the moment, whether they're on my list or not, it's not good! I will definately let you know what I think once I've read it, will probably quite a while away though, have so many others to read!
  18. Aah probably no where near me then! It still sounds lovely though
  19. Aah I loved his possessions, they were so wonderfully fake and extremely amusing!
  20. Ooh creepy, I like it!! Looks like something off Most Haunted!
  21. Me too, and I have an A Level in Art haha!
  22. Yeah I might wait until My Sister's Keeper comes out on DVD so I can have a good old cry in the privacy of my own home hehe!!
  23. Well that sounds lovely! I might put that on my TBR list. Out of interest, does it say what Welsh town it's based in?
  24. I'm the same, my Mum bought me a beautiful metal one for christmas that has a butterfly on top with purple gems in it, but I don't use it much. My dad actually gave me a new one today from his new consignment of thai gifts, it's a floppy one with pressed flowers on it, very pretty! P.S. I have a book about that hospital in Jersey
  25. I don't think I could ever read more than one book at a time, for one I would get extremely confused, but I don't know how I'd find the time to read more than one anyway!
