  1. Hahaa, made you look at my reading blog! I'm glad I convinced you to order the book todayish :smile2:

I hope you enjoyed Triptych? I can't remember which Slaughter title refers to which book, so I can't be sure what happened in that one. Was it a Will Trent novel or Gran County? Wanna shed some light on it?

    The first Will Trent.

    from Waterstones.com:

When Atlanta police detective Michael Ormewood is called out to a murder scene at the notorious Grady Homes, he finds himself faced with one of the most brutal killings of his career: Aleesha Monroe is found in the stairwell in a pool of her own blood, her body horribly mutilated. As a one-off killing, it's shocking, but when it becomes clear, that it's just the latest in a series of similar attacks, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are called in, and Ormewood is forced into working with Special Agent Will Trent of the Criminal Apprehension Team - a man he instinctively dislikes. But then, only twenty-four hours later, the violence Ormewood sees around him every day explodes in his own back yard. And it seems the mystery behind Monroe's death is inextricably entangled with a past that refuses to stay buried ...

I just finished Catching Fire and boy am I glad I already have the third book ready to go! I'm so glad I waited to read the trilogy all in one hit. :) I'll be starting Mockingjay very shortly.

I read the Hunger games and loved it and keep meaning to read Catching Fire.

  2. That's it, blame the innocent book! :irked:

Sure it wasn't the fact that you were falling head over heels for a certain Will Trent and your growing lurve was making you daft? :giggle2:

Haha, probably I love Will! have you got the new bok yet Chrissy?

I finished Dark Matter today, I did enjoy it but once again I am no sure I got it totally perhaps I should stop reading this kind of book when I wake up as the physics and maths and multiple worl theory was a ;ittle hard to grasp at that time of the morning :D . I have started re-reading Lori Handerland Dark Moon whilst I am trying to decide what to read next.

I have Dark Moon on my TBR pile. Is it any good??

    CW

  3. I finished Burned by P.C and Kirstin Cast. I thought it was Ok. I'm not upset that I have to wait for the next one. I will stillread them but I thought it was pretty average.

I am now 100 pages into The Crucifix Killer by Chris Carter. Very fast paced book. Great for detective fans. I would not say highly original so far and you can see the author's influence from horror and psychological thriller movies. But has brought my mojo back after Burned was killing it slightly.

Back home from my little break so about to go into bed and try and get a few more pages read.

  4. Managed another 100 pages of Burned last night. It's going Ok. I agree with other people, the books do seem to be getting worse through the series. Hope it picks up soon. I am having a weekend away with my family, as we need a break, hoping to get a little reading done. Taking The Halo Effect by M.J.Rose and The Crucifix Killer by Chris Carter. Both books Ihave been wanting to read for a while.

  5. I have a Zombie book which is set in Texas called dead City I think. Let me know if you think it is your sort of thing and I'll email you the name etc. I can't think off the top of my head. I also Karin Slaughter seriires is set in Georgia. Jack kerley's books are ser in Alabama. Urm... I know I have more haha.

  6. I almost bought this today, almost. Then I bought kookie 3 books instead .... boy she's good

I finished Incubus Dreams by Laurell K Hamilton

YOu have to read the previous ones first though as it does have a few spoilers in it. I am already in anticipation for the next one. Typical Slaughter. Loved it.

Been really getting into Evermore by Alyson Noel. :)

I have read nothing since the other night but I have Broken beside me and abot to start reading.

  8. I'm up to about page 120 of The Ruins and am really freaked out! It's not horror, but definitely one of the creepiest books I've read. No wonder Stephen King has praise printed on the cover! So scary...

I have this on my TBR pile, so look forward to your review.

Yesterday I bought two books from Asda. They were £3.86 each or two for £3. The offer didn't make much sense but I wasn't going to argue

    * Babyville by Jane Green

    * Presumed Guilty by Tess Gerritsen.

Last night I started to read Presumed Guilty before I went to sleep (it was the first Tess Gerritsen book I've read). I was hooked after about 5 pages and had to stay up til the wee hours of the morning finishing it. The story wasn't fantastic but I was hooked and did not guess who the murderer was. I will have to look out for more of her books in the future.

I also got two books for £3 at Asda today haha.

I bought. Stray - Rachael Vincent. Looks a lot like The women of the Underworld series and is recommened by Kelley armstrong. Also Nights edge - charlaine Harris, Maggie Shayne and Barbara Hambly. Three short stories.

I also managed to get the book The Painted man - Peter V Brett. I have wanted this book for a while and it was half Prce. I was so tempted to get Linger today as it was BOGOF at Tescos (I was getting my kids school trousers, hense all the supermarket shopping.) But I resisted. But I will be getting it soon thats for sure!!!

Last night. I stopeed reading The Eyre Affair and I have about 40 more pages to go. but I just didn't want to read it anymore so I gave into tempation and started to read Karin Slaughter's Broken. I LOVE IT!!! could not put it down, read 200 pages and only put it down because I felt ill and needed to sleep. I am off to read more now. I might red some more of The eyre affair if I can tear myself away from Broken. I knew slaughter would not let me down!!

  9. Only got 70 pages to read of The Eyre Affair. It has actually picked up alot, still not loving it as much as The big Over Easy, but I am getting into it. There is one bit that remined me of my times of going to Rocky Horror show that had me in stitches. Hoping if I can stay awake to read, Genisis by Karin slaughter. I keep seeing the book beside me ready to be read and I am salivating!!!

  10. I read about 70 pages of The Eyre Affair this morning. while I was up the hospital I picked up two books on the wards book sale. They are trying to raise money for some more equipment.

I bought Want to PLay by P.J.Tracy. I wanted to get this book for a while as I have others by her and this is her debut.

Also got.Claudia: Daughter of Rome by Antoinette May. This just sounded fantastic and right up my street.

    Both were 50p each.

Not sure how much reading I will get done tonight, but I hope it is alot I have so many fantastic reads to read.

  11. Ok I need some inspiration....

I have decided to make up a CD full of songs that get my kids and I ready for our British summer Holiday. I am hoping what could be a rahter boring journey in the car could become a sing-a-long.

The problem is I need some suggestions. They don't need to be summery songs or have Summer in the title, just songs that get you in the mood to sing in the car. Songs that remind you of summer holidays.

So far I have thought of:

Agadoo doo doo by Black Lace

    Summer Holiday by Cliff Richard

    Delilah By Tom Jones

    Up by Yazz

Please please help! Oh and because it is for my kids no swearing in the songs.

    Cheers

 Nice mullet, Mac! I like the stars visual, heh.

CW, I'm truly scared of that Tash!

The tash is a force to be reckond with... It took me a while. But it's like my own personal pet. I stroke it like a hamster!

  13. I read The Eyre Affair...quite a good book. Haven't read any of the follow up books yet though.

Can't wait until you read Broken. I didn't think too much of Genesis but this one is definitely good.

Oh wow! I loved genisis! So this is going to be gooooood!
