  2. Yes, they get much better towards the end. I think JK forgot she was writing children's books Half Blood Prince is my favourite of the series I hope you enjoy it.

  4. I love Daphne Du Maurier and haven't read that one. Would love to know what you think of it when you get to it The Notebook is BRILLIANT I hope you like lost book of salem its great. I finished The Lost Book of Salem today. It was FANTASTIC! Very very good indeed I started reading The Pact by Jodi Picoult AND I got The Art of Racing In The Rain
  5. Those books are absolutely beautiful I like the Shakespeare one Hello and welcome to the forum Oliver Twist is a fantastic book. I don't think I have ever wanted a character to succeed as much as I did little Oliver
  6. How about the books by Barbara Taylor Bradford? They are about a woman called Emma Hart who builds an empire for herself. There are several books that span over several generations. I absolutely loved them. The first one is called A Woman of Substance
  7. Yes, Sam is luffly I really like books that distract from the action a little bit by putting stuff like that in... something normal. Makes me feel a little closer to the characters if that makes sense I have Heretic's Daughter on my reading list I also find this part of American History interesting but (until now) have never found an interesting book about it
  8. Those books sounds good. Breaking Dawn = Breaking a Yawn On a seperate note - I have a desire to read all of the Harry Potter books again so I am going to read them after The Lost Book of Salem The Lost Book of Salem is brilliant. Just about halfway through now :eek2:
  9. No, I wouldn't want to know The very end of the second episode gave me goosebumps :s
  10. I have heard a lot of bad things about this novel but I am going to read it (when my library gets it in) with an open mind. Time Traveller's was such a good book... it would be hard to come up with something as good as that.
  11. Yes, I agree with that. The film isn't too bad. I loved the bit you have highlighted BookJumper. I was really looking forward to how they showed it :eek2:
  12. I agree but since the member has only made one post and doesn't appear to have returned it would seem that they only joined for help with their studies. I don't think anybody has problems with study related threads but I think the rule is there to stop people joining, posting one thread and then leaving.
  13. I have only read the first chapter but I am loving it already. You know that feeling when you just know a book is going to be brilliant I forgot to say before that I got Homecoming by Bernhard Schlink at the Oxfam shop on Saturday. Has been on my reading list for a while :eek2:
  14. Finished The White Queen by Philippa Gregory and am going to start The Lost Book of Salem tomorrow I hardly read at the weekends
  15. The White Queen tells the story of Elizabeth Woodville as she goes from a common woman and rises to the greatest position of all; Queen of England and then fights for the rights of her children. She is the Mother of the Princes in the Tower, the little boys that went missing and were never seen again. Their bodies were never found and the mystery of what happened to them still baffles historians to this day. I feel like Philippa Gregory lost it a little bit with The Other Queen and The Boleyn Inheritance but she is back on top form with The White Queen. I know nothing about The War of the Roses and yet again Philippa Gregory provided me with an interesting and fun way of learning. It really is brillaint. I cannot wait for the next one to come out
  16. I am now about half way through The White Queen by Philippa Gregory. I feel that she 'lost it' a little with The Boleyn Inheritance and The Other Queen but is really back on top form with this book I am absolutely loving it
  17. I am nuts about Harry Potter. The first few books are a little childish but they really pick up around book three You should read them and then you will know who Gryffindor is, who Hufflepuff is and Slyverin and Ravenclaw
  18. my boyfriend is a really into gadgets but I don't think an ereader could ever replace that feeling of holding a book and knowing you are really going to enjoy it. Turning the pages and... the smell of a brand new book!
  19. ohno! I tried reading Dead Until Dark this morning but... I gave up because I didn't like the way that it was written I have started reading The White Queen by Philippa Gregory instead and I got The Lost Book of Salem out of the library. The library told me that they didn't have a copy and there it was when I went in!!!!
  20. I'd love to know what you think of it I finished it on Saturday and loved it.
