  1. I will always remember that on the night that my baby brother was born I read the Twits by Roald Dahl to my sister all night long! We were laughing all night and 10mins after we finished at 9:21pm my baby brother Alfie was born! That memory will stay with me always!
  2. Books? What books? I have never ever seen books in my Toys R Us in Wales! They sell everything that a child could want except the best thing in the world for them books! The closest thing they have to a book is a leap pad and its just not the same is it? I have also wondered why Argos have never sold books? They sell everything else.
  3. I think I would want to be a bear! Furry and cuddly but I can be strong, powerful and deadly when I need to!
  4. Oh yes I've read loads of book that start at page 7 and I hate it!
  5. Yeah I know what you mean! In a quick ten minute journey I always try and fit a couple of chapters in but as soon as a long car journey arises I can't even pick up a book even though I really want to! However, I can say that sometimes I can read on a coach when travelling so a little compromise.
  6. At the moment I'm a middle aged teacher named Harris trying to prevail over a swarm of evil flesh- eating rats. Sounds gruesome...it is!
  7. I would have never seen myself reading horror! For the simple fact is that I nearly always read just before I go to sleep so I didnt want anything to spur on any nightmares but my Grampa insisted that I had to read Misery by Stephen King and although it is found in the horror section I didnt find it that bad so now I am warming to the horror genre and I am very soon going to be reading Rats by James Herbert (another suggestion from my Grampa)
  8. It's kinda hard to pick five books that I have read that I think everyone should read but as for a bit of fun here are my five---- The Vampire Chronicles-Anne Rice (Lestat is my all time fictional favourite) Maximum Ride Series- James Patterson (The perfect YA read) Twilight Saga- Stephenie Meyer (Sorry but I loved it) Stephen King- Misery (Everyone should read a little horror. hehe) Skulduggery Pleasant- Derek Landy (Left me in stitches) I don't mind if people don't like my list. If anything point me in the right direction where there are much better reads that I havent yet got my hands on!
  9. I have to say that I loved them all! Cirque Du Freak and the Trials of Blood are my fav! However, I must say that emotions flew in the 9th book! Hehe. I recommend this series!
  10. I have all of the Doctor Who books! Including the ones featuring the amazing Donna Noble! I love these books with their brilliant plots and even down to the amazing hard back covers they are the best books for the Doctor Who fan!

  12. Ooooo this sounds very interesting! I don't use E-books myself but it is available on the shelves as well isn't it? Thanks for awesome suggestion!
  13. Hello! I can see that you love basically the same books as me and I love Maximum Ride how are you finding them? ;)

  14. OOOOooooo! This sounds good! I adore vampires and have read many vampire series! I've never heard of this one I will definatly have a look at these! It sounds amazing that they have captured the humans! Thanks for the good suggestion!
  15. I haven't heard of this one but I also studied Poe in school for a very long time! The Telltale heart was just one of them! We studied The Black Cat, The Pit and the Pendullum and they were quite spooky and I can see why his writing is a bit like marmite! You either love him or you hate him! And I love him he goes against everything and creates a new genre in his time what a genius!
  16. Are there any ideas you can give to young authors about what YOU would like to see on the shelves? Any genre that you feel is at it's weakest and needs something new? Do you have the perfect book in your mind that has not yet graced the bookstores? Are you sick and tired of the same thing? Well lets hear your opinions! I am an open book!
  17. In adult wise I love Robert Langdon he is the perfect detective but when I was younger I loved the Hardy Boys, The Five Find Outers and now that I have just finished my English Lit exam !!!! I must say that Inspector Goole is an Inspector that stands out for me!
  18. A bit childish I know but when I was younger I always wished I was Silky from the faraway tree and everyday visit amazing lands that will suprise me! Just imagine...Chocoalte land...Magic Land... Topsy Turvey land! Oh I love Enid Blyton! Why can't these stories be real! -Cries-
  19. Yay! I've been looking for this thread for ages! I love this series! I love the covers and the overall look of them and the story inside is well written with a quite interesting plot and a cute love story!
  20. Which author would want to marry? Age doesn't really matter! But I'm going for Derek Landy the author of Skulduggery! He's funny, witty and what's saying? 'Laughter is the best medicine!' So who would you live the rest of your life with?
  21. JAMES BOND IS THE BEST! He's cute, intelligant and amazing! I've read them all! Silverfin, BloodFever, Double or Die, Hurricane Gold and By Royal Command! They were all fantastic!! I have to say that Hurricane Gold has to be my favourite! I loved the deathly maze!
  22. When I was younger I read- Not Now Bernard!, Little Rabbit Foo Foo, Dear Zoo, Dr.Dog, Hairy Mclairy and Where the Wild things are! I loved them all they are interesting, funny and catchy and I used to go around singing them to myself in the Supermarket especailly Little Rabbit Foo Foo! But I got to say Not Now Bernard is defiantly my favourite! Hope I've helped!
  23. Well to answer your question I just gotta say Adrian Mole! I'm 16 and I love the way that I can relate to the way he speaks and reacts to situations! I would say that writing like a YA would make the story all that more appealing but I have read loads of books that don't so I wouldn't worry! Hope I've helped!
  24. Oh yeah I love these books! The thought if an evil teenage genius as the main character just drew me in! But I have to say i think Foaly has to be my favourite character his sarcastic comments are soo funny and he reminds me of me! I've read the 5th one- Artemis Fowl and The Time Paradox and loved it so many twists and turns that kept you on the edge of your seat!
  25. Hey everyone, I have a Waterstones card, but do they send you vouchers if you sign up online like Borders used to? That would be useful as I buy loads of books a year!
