  1. I didn't even know he wrote short spooky stories but this one was fantastic my favourtie image- 'The wind was like a flat blade of ice upon my cheek' This brilliant short story left me on the edge of my seat and the end was a huge unexpecting twist! Roald Dahl lovers I recommend you read this story! Or anyone for that matter!
  2. One of the all time mystery series the Hardy Boys has always been on the top of my list for mystery books but they seem to be quite old has anyone else read them and loved them?
  3. I know! I can't wait! I hope it is as good as the book! I wonder who would play each of the characters? That would be an interesting decision to make!
  4. Anyone here love the Maximum Ride Series? James Patterson elegant and thrilling writng is fast paced and full of cool action. His characters-Max, Fang, Iggy, Angel, Gasman and Total are brilliant and the plots are full of twists! I would recommend these to anyone!
  5. Brillaint! I'm glad someone out there loves them as much as I do! I also feel that Charlie is a much better writer than Ian Fleming! Which is your favourite one? If you had to choose?
  6. Hey everyone! Thanks for all your replies! I havent read Dracula all the way throught do you think I should? I love Interview with a Vampire and I think that the movie did well by keeping it quite close to the book. I love all the different views different authors have on vampires. Stephenie Meyer's sparkling Vampires, Darren Shan's no teeth vampires, Anne Rice's naughty but nice vampires. I LOVE THEM ALL!
  7. I totally agree! Somethig in the Water was way the best Torchwood books and I love the hard back covers, they look soo nice on my shelves! Has anyone read the new Doctor Who ones with Donna in? They are class!
  8. Does anyone here read the Young Bond books written by Charlie Higson? They are fun, interesting and have twisting plots and cliff hangers. My favourite I gotta say is Hurricane Gold I loved the amazing maze full of nasties! If you have read them tell me what you think and If you havent read them YOU SHOULD!
  9. I would just like to say I've studied Carol Ann Duffy's poerty in school and then our teachers took us to a study session with her in our local theatre. I must say she is a very odd character and how can I say? Uh, butch... She didn't particulary like the questions we asked her as they were all about her old poems (which are the best ones) and talked alot about her brand new book that she sold in the foyer after the meeting. But I do like her poems especially Valentine!
  10. Hey everyone! Thanks for all replying! I think we should stay with the best character Vampire and I will make another thread on best brawler if you would like. I suppose you can have two favourites, hehe as I have it's soo hard to chose as there are soo many different Vampire books out there! Keep battling and keep up the replies! And then the Overall winner will be announced! :D:D
  11. I meant best Vampire character but it would be interesting to think about who would be the best in a vampire brawl! Thanks for your reply ! But I think Louis has definatly proved that he can be a toughie but I'm not sure who would win in that brawl? MMMmmmmm?
  12. Hey! To be honest I thought the first one of the series was called Icefire and never read about Squirrels! Icefire is all dragons with exciting characters and interesting plots and they get better and better throught the next two books; Fire Star and The Fire Eternal! If I were you I would give Icefire a try! But I must say that the Edge Chronicles are good books too!
  13. Brilliant! Thanks! It's sooo hard to find a book as amazing as Twilight so I will definatly give them a go!
  14. Hey everyone! Who do you think is the Vampire to beat All Vampires? Is it the traditional Dracula? The naughty Lestat? One of the very modern and good looking Cullens? Or even maybe the best ginger Vampire Mr.Crepsley! Let The Battle Commence!
  15. Well I'm a teenager and I read ALOT! I don't know why but there never seems to be any teens in Waterstones but in WH- Smith there are loads believe me! Which is incredibly weird! However, there are not many in my school (which I just left! Yes!) who read and it is hard to discuss the best things in the world...BOOKS!
  16. My favourite villains... Lestat number one he is so naughty but so nice! One villainess which I also love if Annie Wilkes from Misery! She is scary!
