  1. If I fall in love with a book I read it over and over again: Examples the first five Harry Potter books. Lord of the Rings. Chronicles of Narnia. Pride and Prejudice (lost count). Some PG Wodehouse ones and I am considering starting Oliver Twist again. So the answer to that is - Yes!
  2. They did and it wasn't so bad. I'll always prefer the books - got to find them again.
  3. Well I must admit I haven't been watching these but I have caught little glimpses and I may watch it next year just to see what the fuss is about. The thing is though, Sir Alan Sugar reminds me of one of my uncles I don't get on with that well ...
  4. Yet another to look out for!
  5. Memories indeed Kimmy ... loved those as a girl...
  6. Yep, love your username - How are you? I hope you are enjoying it here. Welcome and have fun with all the fish! Did you bring your towel?
  7. Oooooh whats that one Lexie? (you don't mind lexie?) I think tonight I'll be a mysterious lonely wizard telling a scribe his story. He is a boy asking for the tale of the beginning of the world ... I think.
  8. She is absolutely incredible - I even done a jigsaw of one of her paintings - it is now stuck on a board ready to be hung up and nowhere to go!

  9. Were is definitely right as 'were' is used in when talking about multiple people in conjunction with words like 'they', which is also in the sentence - for example: "They WERE ..." or as the sentence already has it: "The agency were..." Was refers to a singular like: "I was disappointed with that!" NOT "I were disappointed!" (unless you're using country dialect in which case bad grammer is acceptable but only in dialogue!) So the book had it right - not sure what the person was thinking of?! Also I would probably correct in one of my OWN books but NEVER from a library book.
  10. My first fantasy was probably the Worst Witch series (a private school for witches only - the hapless heroine was Mildred Hubble who couldn't cast a successful spell and when she tries the results are extremely hilarious.) You could say though The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe was the first true fantasy I ever read. I only read LOTR because I was such a huge Lewis fan so when I found out he was best friends with the author of LOTR I read them too. Also the films came out and we went to see them all as a family. Not really into sci-fi which is why I love the mickey take of Hitchhikers and that was my first sci fi. Dean Koontz is the first Horror author I truly fell in love with.
  11. I thought it may be one of the impressionists ... my favourite is Monets Willow that he painted in 1919 towards the end of his life. I also, paradoxically, love Edvard Munch's Scream.

Though my favourite artist of ALL time is Josephine Wall. Have you heard of her?

  12. Okay how do I join this, this sounds like fun?
