  1. You live where I would love to!

  2. Don't worry. I tried four or five times before I found one that fit. Then I found this one. Cool isn't it! When you say ALL the genres what sort of fantasy and thrillers do you like? And also happy !
  3. It is Chris Packham replacing him ... still another cat hater! I love cats and can't stand it when birders go on and on about how detrimental Cats are to birds ... from what I've watched more birds eat birds than cats eat birds! Sometimes we get fratricide and cannibalism amongst birds!!!!! So my message to Springwatch presenters this year - Leave Cats Alone!
  4. Love your profile pic. I have a tortoishell too. She's absolutely beautiful! How'd you get a piccie behind your profile page?

  5. Like your new avvie Mac where is it from?

  6. From someone adamant that I wasn't going to watch this year I am now determined to buy the DVD! A very strange turn of events!
  7. I love Mark Sloan too and Gibbs from NCIS! Though NCIS is more reliant on teamwork - everyone helps solve the mystery rather than just one person.
  8. My favourite bookstore is Waterstones, I live not too far from a decent sized and well stocked one! Also there is a man there that seems to be a guru on every genre of book! And the points system is pretty good too ... got enough almost to get a decent hardback for next to nothing!
  9. I have recieved the book thanx! It's nice to recieve a parcel without having to look for an invoice! lol

  10. Hey how are you? I am fine ... well ... better than I have been over the weekend.

  11. I've started that one but got more engrossed in Patrick Rothfuss: Name of the Wind. So far that's more my sort of fantasy but Brent Weeks is good though I get the feeling he'll grow on me. Not sure on Adrian Tchaikovsky either as far as I'm concerned anything with trains and guns in it is more science fiction than fantasy! But I haven't got past the first hundred pages of either Brent or Adrian so saving true judgement until I do get really into the plots.
  12. My favourites were the top five! I think the right one won and I'll remember this one for a long time compared to some of ours which I have just forgotten through sheer apathy! I didn't vote but I would have broken the bank for Azerbaijan and Iceland! I thought the Iceland one was beautiful but then I am more into classical opera type of music .... Finland, Germany and Spain ... what the heck?
  13. I haven't heard all of it! It sounds nice but not a winner! As someone said: What happened to cheesy happy songs like Making Your Mind Up? I will be watching with my best mate after all!
  14. I don't think I missed the point at all ... What I am saying is that, in my opinion, it would have made a better short novel than a short story, as I think the complexities of the plot didn't suit a short story I thought the double personality theme was glossed over and a novel going into more detail over the exploits of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. would have been better. I was disappointed by the length and would have liked more. My point is that it was a good story but felt it would have been better as a detailed novel. Sort of on the size of Hound of the Baskervilles. I felt a little like when I finished it: 'Yeah ... is that it? Where's the rest of it?' I do think Victorian literature more scary than modern literature ... Stokers Dracula for a start. Also I loved Dickens Signalman story too. The story about the grave robbers was scarier and was written by the same author ... Poe on the other hand wrote a short story on a similar theme and tackled it in a better way than R L S did, and Poe DOES send shivers down my spine and he was also an author of Victorian times. All I am saying is ... I didn't find that particular story scary as I was led to believe.
  15. No you're not Surburbanite ... I too LOVE Uncle Albert though I loved Grandad in Friday the Fourteenth - the episode where they go to Boycie's cottage and there is a madman lose who kills fishermen. My grandma was like a female Uncle Albert - always talking about the war! And I loved it when Del Boy and Rodney got women - Racquel calmed Del Boy somewhat and Cassandra helped Rodney sometimes to stand up to Del. I thought they added to the series and showed the two men growing up and changing for the better. Trig is a good character but my favourite over all ... Rodney, I just feel so sorry for him! My favourite moment was when Del Boy fell through the bar ... made more brilliant because it wasn't supposed to happen and the reaction of Roger Lloyd Pack and David Jason was completely natural.
  16. I read this story in one evening and was fairly disappointed ... I was hoping for a huge scare but it didn't do anything ... Edgar Allan Poe's William Wilson sent shivers up my spine - this story didn't! I think it would have benefited from being a proper novel with more description and atmosphere!
  17. I like one of the bread adverts - a boy running through the twentieth century from before the Titanic through the First World War - Depression - Second World War - Fifties Teddy Boys - Sixties Beatlemania - Coal Strikes in the Eighties and Nineties to now ... The amount of costume changes the boy goes through is stunning ... I love that one!
  18. I have given up on falling in love with any song as the ones I like tend not to get anywhere! I think it was Latvia a few years ago, had a song about Pirates ... it was really funny and cool ... completely ignored!
  19. The voting system changing is it? I may watch it ... depends how I feel. I do like the songs most of the time!
  20. Hey, I write too ... I have someone going through my stuff for me... it is hard to have your work criticised but most of the time it is for the best as I am finding out!

  21. Yes, he is doing it this year as Terry W. got fed up with the politics and in-voting. Same reason why I'm not watching any more! And Grahame Norton annoys me to.
  22. I adore Nightwish since I heard Dark Chest of Wonders! I've been hooked since! My favourite songs are nearly all on Century Child.

  23. I said this on my page - Thanx, really looking forward to reading it as it sounds fascinating.

  24. I think I've given up on the ESC... I hate the way it is all fixed. I don't think the voting system is fair and some beautiful songs get completely overlooked and the worse ones win - all excepting the one where Finland won! But I don't think I'll be watching this year!
  25. Thanx Frankie... I am looking forward to :readingtwo: it!
