Ooooh I've read Eragon (also bought at a charity shop ) and I really enjoyed it. It was quite an easy read and one of those books you just breeze through. Hope you like it I'm also intrigued by Jasper Fforde thanks to comments and recommendations. Think I'll push him up my 2010 reading list! I'm off to see the movie tonight but with the girls this time so I can swoon to my heart's content......... I'm about a quarter way through The Body Thief by Anne Rice, who is fast becoming my No.1 favourite author. -
I think I'm going to go with the wildcard option too.....but I'm scared that they may already have it! Decisions decisions!
-
The Tudors (again!!)
-
Hmmmmmmmm.....tough one! Maybe Jeffrey Deaver's killer in The Bone Collector. Very terrifying deaths and cruel too Scary stuff!

2nd season Tara really annoys me! I didn't really notice it the first season but by the second one I half wished

Ah.....The Number 1 bus! It's the reason a few of my friends learned to drive 5 more facts about me. 1) I'm seriously considering working towards a phD and get pretty excited when I think about it. 2) I'm not sure if I can afford said phD and it's a tad worrying 3) I love red liquorice laces! Yum! 4) I own 14 pairs of tan leather high heels and 4 pairs of tan leather knee high boots. 5) I often dress like it's 1964

Would the Number 1 bus be part of this journey by any chance? It's supposed to turn up every seven minutes but I've waited well over an hour in the rain on numerous occasions. Then four turn up at once!

I'm half way through The 6 Wives of Henry VIII by Alison Weir and I've also started The Body Thief by Anne Rice because I simply couldn't wait any longer! -
I'm the Vampire Lestat and I'm considering swapping bodies with a mortal man in order to live a human existence again.
-
I think I would also like to know how these books were chosen. Was it a readers poll or the opinion of 'experts'? Was it a refection of sales? A dictionary is in that list so it can't surely be based on literary content? Hmmmmmmmmm...........

Well I know a lad who has a very similar taste in literature to me and he loves them! The books we've shared over the years are: The Northern Lights Trilogy by Phillip Pullman The Harry Potter books I Am Legend by Richard Matheson Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk Porno by Irvine Welsh Hope that helps you measure what your BF might like?? -
I totally agree with Lestat 1. The Vampire Lestat (Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles). I think he's so well written and his dialogue is like honey . He's without a doubt my favourite character of all time....I just love to read about him. It's a shame Anne Rice has said that The Vampire Chronicles are at an end for her. 2. Tyler Durden (Fight Club - Chuck Palahniuk). His utopian vision is crazy but has some valuable points in my opinion. 3. Joe Gargery (Great Expectations - Charles Dickens). The only man deserving of the title 'Gentleman' in the entire book. 4. Eric Northman (Southern Vampire Mysteries - Charlaine Harris). He cracks me up! And he's hot 5. Oskar (Let The Right One In - John Ajvide Linqvist). Oskar is an innocent boy that bad things happen to. I found his relationship with Eli very endearing and pure.

This thread is so cool! 5 facts about me.....hmmmm.... 1. I'm a mature student. 2. I'm completely in love with Daniel Craig. At work I've covered my desk and divide with pictures of him and a nice big calendar. It's probably the only thing that gets me through the door on a Monday morning. 3. I have the nickname of 'Nanna' amongst my closest friends as I display the traits of a Grandma apparently. (I probably don't help myself as I cant resist a fancy tea cosy ) 4. I love meeting new people and find it quite easy to make new friends. I'm really grateful that I can do this as I know so many people find it difficult. I think that as I've got older, I've become much more confident. 5. I've just had the first falling out with my Sister in our adult lives and I'm probably going to have to make the first step in working things out. (Which I hate to do as I'm pretty stubborn......fact number 6) I feel like someone's chopped my left arm off.

Dead to the World - Charlaine Harris -
You lot are giving me a real craving for Harry Potter! I'm thinking that nursing my poorly head (self inflicted with the devil's juice known as cherry beer) in bed with a bag of skips and The Philosopher's Stone on dvd could be the way to go

I've been watching The Tudors season 2 which is great......I suppose my last movie would be The Lives of Others which is a german movie about a couple living in East Berlin, being closely monitored by the Stasi. It's such a good movie

I loved The Catcher In The Rye! Hope you enjoy it I'm carrying on with The 6 Wives of Henry VIII which so far is really good. I reall enjoyed the introduction to it as it gives a general overview of what society was like in the 16th Century......you know, they thought that education was wasted on women as all we'd do with the skill was sit around writing love letters all day. Heeeesh!
