  1. Ooooooh! My BF has just let me open one of my birthday gifts early and he's bought me season one on blu-ray!!! :D:D I'm so chuffed! There's a running commentary with "several cast and crew members"........fingers crossed one is Mr Skarsgard! I would seriously stay at home for the next week watching it on repeat!!
  2.
  3. My bookshelf is around 70% fiction and 30% non-fiction. I read to relax, so fiction makes up the bulk of my collection but I have a lot of books about architecture and cities due to my degree and recently (after reading 3 of Philippa Gregory's Tudor novels) I've been drawn to non-fiction books about the Tudor court.
  4. Has anyone seen the advert for SMA baby milk with the laughing babies? The last baby always sets me off with his 'old-man' laugh So cute!
  5. You should check out that book stall in the Grainger Market.....I saw a copy in there a few weeks ago Just make sure you get the right book stall as I made the mistake of looking in the wrong one and found myself surrounded by erotic books and old ladies! Mills and Boon.......not good!
  6. Have you seen season 2 yet Mugglemagic? Season 2 Eric is seriously edible! :D Season 2 Bill on the other hand has hair issues (I think we've already had in depth discussions about his fringe! haa!!) I heart Eric!
  7. I just love the way she writes....it has a real quality about it. After reading The Vampire Lestat, I read a few books before starting Queen of the Damned. This just made me realise how amazing Anne Rice is when I eventually picked up QOTD, especially after the first chapter with Lestat's silky voice setting the scene. Ah........I just love her! You should bump it up the list a few places and if you don't fall in love with Louis I'll throw myself in front of a bus! (slight exaggeration! )
  8. Me too!!
  9. Hello Genevieve!

Thanks for that! You've put a smile on my face! :D

I'm good! How are you? xx

  10. Since my last post I've read: Eldest - Christopher Paolini & Brisingr - Christopher Paolini I'm really into this series. They're really easy to read and nice to pick up after a stressful day. The story follows on from the first book to see Eragon tackle his training to become an accomplished Dragon Rider while falling in love, becoming a figure head for the revolution against the evil Gallbatorix and growing into a man. The last book in the series is due soon but as far as I'm aware, there's no set date for release. Can't wait! 8/10 Queen Of The Damned - Anne Rice Anne Rice is very quickly becoming my favourite author. I love the style in which she writes and the opening chapter, with Lestat setting the scene, read like seductive honey (??) The story directly follows on from The Vampire Lestat and see's him attract Akasha, Queen of the vampires. He is lured by her power but her plans for humanity unsettle him. He is truely divided in this book and his soul becomes more tortured. This book also delves further into how the vampire came to exist and travels back thousands ofyears to tell the story. It was good to see the return of Louis, Gabrielle, Armand & Marius, as well as the introduction of new characters Jessie, David and Maharet. 10/10 The Queen's Fool - Philippa Gregory This book follows on chronologically from The Boleyn Inheritance and begins during the reign of a very ill King Edward. The story centres around Hannah, a spanish jew who has fled spain with her father, a printer, to escape execution for heresy. Following a chance meeting with Robert Dudley, her gift of 'seeing' the future escalates her into court life as the Kings Holy Fool. We see her try to remain under the radar while Mary comes to the throne, Robert Dudley is imprisoned in the tower and Princess Elizabeth fights for power. It's a fantastic story and well worth a read. At the end of the book we hear of the death of Queen Mary and the next book, The Virgin's Lover, begins with the Elizabeth coming to the throne. It's next on my TBR list. 9/10
  11. Hello Miss Frankie! Well I've been considering buying it but I'm sooooooo busy at the moment that I'm too scared too! I know for a fact I'd have to finish the whole thing and wouldn't be happy with just picking my way through it slowly..... I feel like I'm neglecting the forum at the moment but hope to return to normal asap! Hope you're grand mrs xx
  12. The future father of my children well that's probably not technically possible so I'll settle for Alexander Skarsgard Ah.....a girl can dream eh!
  13. Haaaa! Me too! I think I got to week two and couldn't wait to find out what happened so bought the first book......then the next three! Ah......wonder what season 3 will bring for Mr Northman?! (hopefully less in the way of clothing!! Did I just say that outloud??)
  14. I love Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. They have a real quality to them and are probably my favourite books The Harry Potter series is another amazing series......I've read a million times and never get bored! I'm also a fan of The Southern Vampire Mysteries by Charlaine Harris and am waiting patiently (ish) for the next book!
  15. I concur! Now that the new series is on channel 4 I've got all my girlfriends swooning over Bill. I'm like "no, no, no, no, no." While slowly shaking my head! I've a feeling they'll be popping over to borrow the books any day now!
  16. I've been super busy for weeks so haven't had a great deal of time to myself but I've been slowly reading The Queen's Fool by Philippa Gregory during bus trips! It was great and really hard to put down at the end of each journey! I'll be buying The Virgin's Lover which is the next book chronologically and centres around the court of the newly crowned Queen Elizabeth.
  17. I think you'll find quite a few Charlaine Harris fans here Sara! Myself included Welcome to the Forum!
  18. Welcome to the Forum Northernnutter!
  19. Yeah, I think the producers have to know that more of Eric would increase viewing figures. Or is that just too much like common sense? (you know what man-folk are like! )
  20. You could discover a great book here BJ so I wouldn't write it off. Also, as Sirinrob said, he may be breaking away from his Warhammer background so give him a chance
  21. If a book has been recommended by them I tend to avoid it as I've read a few shockers which they thought were great.
  22. After watching Eragon Last night, I can safely say that this is the most dreadful book adaption I've ever seen......EVER!!!!! A waste of a good 90 minutes and
  23. It's good to hear for certain!
  24. I'm reading uni stuff too. Planning theory
  25. When I was 8 I begged and begged my parents to buy me Blondie's Call Me on tape. It's still one of my favourite songs and band today It went slightly downhill from there though as the next tape I owned was something by Bros! Nice
