  1. LOL, I'm with you Beth, never heard of any of them.
  2. Yeah I understood that stuff and thought it was pretty awesome.

I kinda fell almost ambushed by the book, but in a good way, as I wasn't really expecting it to make me think so much.

  3. Best of luck with them Roxi.

Personally I think if you understand all the stuff in Mr Y I think you should automatically be appointed President of the World.

  4. Happy birthday there mate!

  5. ROFL, I think I might be in trouble then Roxi! I think I'm going to have to re-read it to be honest. Still, should be fun. I can't really provide you with any specific examples as I'm at work right now and don't have the book with me.

I'm all good. Just getting ready to move and spending money at a ridiculous rate. Getting a home loan sucks. Other than that just working and reading really.

How's stuff with you? Hope everything is well. What's the update on your place of residence?

    Ciao!

    Welcome to the forum Carla!
  7. Hey Roxi, how's things?

Just a quick one - The End of Mr Y - how much of it did you actually understand? I've just finished Part Two, so I'm what, about 3/5 of the way through it, and whilst I'm really enjoying it I'm finding that a fair bit of the stuff is just going straight over the top of my head. Is this going to matter? I've never studied much science and some of the stuff has just seemed mental to me.

  8. I know a hopeless cause when I see one Kylie. No point banging my head against a brick wall. Spend away!
  9. LOL, I think it is a pretty safe bet!
  10. LOL, same here. I am definately going to give it a read in the not too distant future though. I have heard a lot of good things about it.

    Hello!

    Welcome to the forum!
  12. I think the actor that plays Jason does a great job.
  13. My girlfriend finished reading this one last week and said she enjoyed it, which is a bit of a rarity for her. It is on my TBR pile, I'm sure I'll get round to it eventually.
  14. 'Norwegian Wood' sounds great Lucy. Looking forward to reading it, its on my TBR pile.
  15. I used to read a lot when I was younger, say up until I was around 15. Then I didn't read seriously again until this year. Shamefully, it was the Twilight series that re-triggered my reading mojo.
  16. Thanks Beth. It is a difficult one for me, I enjoyed the style and the way it was written and even the story up to a certain extent, I just don't think I really liked the way it all panned out in the end.
  17. 'The Madonna of the Almonds' sounds great Lexie. I love historical fiction so I think I'll throw it on the list.
  18. I voted read it and love it. Even though some things annoyed me I can't say that I didn't really enjoy it overall.
  19. Finished 'Sleeping Arrangements' over the weekend. It was so-so. Starting 'The End of Mr.Y" by Scarlett Thomas next, which I am excited about given the reviews I have read for it on here.
  20. I would stick with it for a while, hopefully you will start to get into it a bit more soon!
  21. Awesome, another Aussie! Welcome mate!
