  1. Hey Kylie, how's things?

Going to sound like a really odd question, but I know you have/had a mortgage so I thought I would ask. Do you have any idea about income protection/life insurance? Someone has told me I should get some and has recommended an insurance broker to me, but I don't really want to get ripped off. Have you had any experience with that stuff?

  2. No, I don't. I've never had a reason to. On occasion I might try and say to myself "I want to have this book finished by the end of the weekend", but it is hardly a hardset time limit.

Some quotes from the press conferences. It sounds like Andy is completely shattered. Really feeling for the guy, must be tough. ARod: When asked if this was worse than his other losses to Federer in Wimbeldon finals:
  4. Hey Mac, just wanted to drop in and say congrats on the new job. Nice one!

Andy Murray had a great tournament. Roddick was in close to career best form, so that shows that Murray was not far off. As much as I do not like Murray at all, he is clearly the 3rd best in the world right now, and is definately a future Grand Slam champion.

I think what he meant when he said "it felt funny" was that he didn't feel like he deserved to win. You could tell that he kind of knew he was the second best out there and got away with it. I am a massive Federer fan, but even I kind of wanted ARod to get there at the end. It must be horribly gutting, he will rue the second set breaker for the rest of his career I think. Whilst the match was exciting I would have to say in my 15 odd years watching tennis it was the worst quality Grand Slam final I have ever seen. Federer played terribly I thought. It would have to be the worst match I have ever seen him play. Still, I guess that is what makes the great champions, they can win when they are playing poorly. It also gave a real indication as to why grass court tennis is completely dead outside of Wimbeldon - it just is nowhere near as good to watch as the slower surfaces. Anyways, congratulations to Roger. He now stands as clearly the best player of all time. He has the record for 15 Slams and has won all four of the majors, at just 27 years of age. Truly an outstanding achievement.

Wow, that has got to be a massive mental blow for ARod. He chocked horribly in that breaker. Its going to take a pretty massive effort to overcome that.

Yeah, Federer looks really unsure of himself to, Andy has the mini-break in the tie breaker now too, it will be really interesting if he can take the second.

Yeah Andy is playing very well. Serving extremely well when he gets into trouble. The break in the first kind of came out of nowhere. It would be crazy if Andy managed to win this, I'm not even sure I can remember a Grand Slam final where anyone started as short a favourite as Federer did for this match.

I don't know to be honest. I hope Andy can give it a good go but I have seen Federer go through Roddick with ease so many times in the past that I am unsure. Here are a few facts on their head-to-head history: - Federer has an 18-2 winning record over Andy Roddick - They have played 7 times in Grand Slams, Andy has never beaten Federer - They have played 3 times at Wimbeldon, Andy having one 1 set in the 3 matches. Basically, I would be pretty surprised if Andy got a set.

Do we? If history is anything to go by it should be a very easy match for Federer. I will be pulling for Federer to win for sure. Andy has done a great job to make another Wimbeldon final though, I didn't expect him to ever get there again.
  12. At least you don't have the immediate worries, and hopefully everything will end up working out with welfare so you can stay.

All is pretty well my end, been fairly busy with work and organising the purchase of the townhouse. I got a bigger than expected bonus from work for the End of Financial Year to, which should help with things.

  13. Hey Roxi,

Glad to hear you got everything sorted and managed to keep your house! Hope all is well otherwise.

It is looking like a Federer-Murray final right now, although I wouldn't rule Roddick out. I can't see anyone beating Federer on grass right now though.
  16. Mine are as follows: Twilight Eclipse Breaking Dawn New Moon
  17. Yeah, I think I may have a slight problem with buying too many books but you definately have some serious issues there, lol.
  18. ROFL. This really isn't surprising considering that you seem to be puchasing books pretty much every day.
  19. Awesome thread idea Kylie. This year pretty much marked my return to serious reading. I am 24 now and before this year I hadn't read seriously since I was probably around 15. I approached the year with pretty much no expectations reading wise. I think I have got through just over 30 books, which is pretty decent I think, however I have slowed down a lot over the last few weeks. I have definately found a few favourites - TTTW and Jennifer Donnelly's two books in particular. I did not make any challenges, so I have been sticking to them perfectly! I have definately bought way, way more books than I have read. I think I have about 30 sitting on my shelves right now still to be read. I seriously need to stop myself. If I am on BCF, I am almost definately at work, so there is no real danger of BCF time eating into my reading time. I aim to read at least 50 books this year. I know the second half is going to be slower as I am going to be busier at work and at home, so I think 50 is a reasonable target despite the fact that I have already read over 30. Again, cool thread!
  20. Just wanted to wish you well with your relationship problems. These are always really tough issues, I hope it all works out for you.

Yeah he came back from 2 sets to love down to beat Stepanek. He is playing pretty well at the moment, should give Roddick a good match I think.
