  1. Wow, glad to see you enjoyed that one so much Beth. I am considering it as my next read.

Federer is looking pretty devestating. I have a feeling he is going to win this tournament fairly easily.
  3. Hey Roxi, good luck with the job situation. Seems like a really awkward scenario. Hope all is going well otherwise.

  4. I remember finding that one pretty tough to get through as well.

RG was his 14th I believe and saw him equal the record. He is shooting to set his own at Wimbeldon.

Yeah, Wimbeldon will definately be missing something without Rafa this year. Still, I'm looking forward to it, Wimbeldon is always cool. I don't follow womens tennis anywhere near as closely as the men, but I don't think Ana looks fully fit. I think she has had some injury problems over the last 12 months and hasn't managed to get back into her best shape yet. In the one match I watched of hers at the French her mobility just didn't seem good enough.
  7. My reading experience is pretty limited to this point compared to others on here, but at this stage I would probably have to go with female writers.
  8. Glad to hear you enjoyed this book so much Scarlette. It is still my favourite book for the year I think. I loved it!
  9. LOL, I am a terrible, terrible critic Beth. There is absolutely no doubt about that.
  10. Nurse Betty for mine. Horrible, just horrible.
  11. Awesome Beth, I will be interested as I already ordered the first one of them from the Book Depository. I really enjoyed Ralph's Party, thanks a lot for the recommendation. I am about 160 pages into the Faber book now, just started Part 2. Going really well so far, but I seem to pretty much love every book set in 19th century London!
  12. Sounds good. I recently added Coffin Dancer to my wishlist.
  13. Exactly. In the book it was really pretty cool how it all happened. In the movie is was just like BANG! its done.
  14. Haha, hell is most definately freezing over a long time before you stop buying books Kylie!
  15. The first time through I thought it was ridiculous, but watching it after having read the book I felt he did a pretty good job.
  16. I buckled and downloaded the movie the other day. I saw it once at the cinema but it was before I read the book and I thought it was pretty terrible. It was better than I thought, obviously. I still think it didn't focus enough on the reason I liked the first book so much, but I guess that was kind of difficult to translate into a movie.
  17. Cheers Mac, I got through 40 odd pages last night and it is already looking good.

Thanks for the recommendation for 'Deal Breaker' too. Best thriller I have ever read.

  18. Haha. I am hopefully just about to be laiden with a mortgage so I am trying to stock up now while I have spare money!
  19. I just about caught up with you too Ben. I have a distinct feeling you are going to once again streak ahead though.
  20. Awesome Ben, are you done with school for good now? Reading is going well, except that I am buying books a lot faster than I am able to read them and the pile next to my shelf is growing and growing.
  21. I finished 'Ralph's Party' by Lisa Jewell over the weekend. I really raced through the last 200 pages, I really got into it as it went on. It was just a really fun book to read. The characters were really engaging and I love books like that that manage to run two plots alongside each other that have a tenuous linkage so effectively. Really cool stuff. I also liked the way the author managed to make you like and dislike a character at the same time, which is I think a bit unusual for this type of book. I rated it at 8.5/10. I would definately recommend it to anyone that likes chit-litty stuff. It was another Beth recommendation, so thanks a lot Beth! Next up for me is 'The Crimson Petal and the White' by Michael Faber, which will take me quite a while I think as it is an absolute brick.
  22. Really? I really don't think he can act. At all. I hope he surprises me though.
  23. TTW better be good. I'm not sure about Eric playing Henry, but I hope he does a good job.
  24. Welcome! I also like chit-lit!
  25. Seriously, it is kind of insane how many books you buy and read. I'm not convinced you are actually one person Kylie. My TBR stands at over 30 and my wishlist at over 20 I think. I went through and culled last week.
