  1. Parents are still away on holidays and myself, both of my brothers and my girlfriend are all working all day, so we are going to get Thai takeaway.
  2. There are very few things that actually annoy me, but I will admit to this being one. Just show some goddam consideration people, is it really that difficult?
  3. I remember studying that book in Grade 10. I remember
  4. I can't say for certain as I've only seen the first 5 shows but I am pretty sure that the first series is just based on the first book. I'm sure others will be able to confirm.
  5. ROFL, you most definately are! I have only seen the first 5 Eps, but I thought they did the books justice at least.
  6. He gets better I think Bee. By around the 5th he was pretty much exactly as I thought he should be.
  7. Hey there, welcome to the forum!
  8. Yeah? I'll definately read them. I preferred it to all the Twilight books, with the exception of the first one of course.
  9. I finished 'The Host'. I really enjoyed the book, I rated it 8.5/10. I was surprised I enjoyed it so much to be honest. Firstly, I don't like Science Fiction stories and I really don't like alien invasion-type plots, so I had low expectations going in. Also, people had advised me that the book had a pretty slow start and was a little tough to get into for a while. I was pleasantly surprised on both counts. The start didn't seem slow to me at all. I had no problems getting into the book and found both the story and the characters pretty engaging right from the get-go. I also enjoyed the overall concept more than I thought I would. I really liked Meyer's twist on the whole alien invasion storyline. I have criticised the writing style of Meyer in the Twilight series in the past, but I actually felt it was much better in this book. Perhaps it is because it may be aimed at a little bit of an older audience. Apparently there are going to be sequels to this book, so I look forward to reading them. Next up for me is 'Sleeping Arrangements' by Madeleine Wickham.
  10. I saw it the other day and I definately get what you mean by this. I haven't read any of the books and I only see the movies because Em is obsessed with Harry Potter, but when I watched that I just kind of thought, "I think that was meant to be significant and it just wasn't". Overall I actually thought it was one of the better ones to be honest. I'd probably rate it second behind the 4th.
  11. Welcome!

I agree Kylie. I was shocked at how helpful everyone was over there. We were kind of expecting everyone to be cold and unhelpul, but like you say even right in the middle of London ppl were practially falling over themselves to help us. It was when we hit Europe that we ran into some trouble...

Haha, hell, I rub it in enough when we win so I have to be prepared to accept it when we get beat! I like the English anyway. Half my side of the family is English and my girlfriend's family moved out here in the 80s, so I feel like I am surrounded by poms.
  15. Haha, yeah it will be I'm sure. The worst is behind me now.

  16. It is nearly over thank god. It has been horrible.

I don't want to slag Emily off, but she has done literally nothing to help. She just keeps saying "I don't understand this stuff baby, you can just do it".

Too bad if I have no idea either I guess.

Looking forward to moving in though, settlement date is August 3.

  17. Hey Kylie, just wanted to say I'm sorry you're not feeling great at the moment and chin up, you seem like a great person to me! Hopefully the Aussies can put forth a more competent effort in the third test to make us all feel better!

  18. Welcome back mate!
  19. I saw it with my girlfriend who is a dead set Harry Potter nut on the weekend. I haven't read any of the books and I haven't enjoyed the movies a great deal to be honest. Still, I thought this was probably the second best one behind the fourth.

WE got outplayed badly in this test. There is no other bowler around like Flintoff, he is the best quick in the world when he is going like that. England have to be the strangest side in world sport. Away from home you could mount an argument for them being the worst test-playing nation in the world. At home they can at times look close to unbeatable, it is incredible.
  21. Haha, you certainly are the series machine.

Yeah, Clarke and Haddin's partnership has given us some hope. We still can't afford to lose an easly wicket though.

Wow, what a massive turnaround from the first test. We have been completely outplayed in this game. We did receive a few harsh calls yesterday, but we are still well behind the eight ball.
