  1. Its on my list =D I don't know why I'm in a horror story mood. Some days I want to read kids books, others, old classic romances, etc. Atm I'm reading Salem's Lot - it's not gotten scary/disturbing yet, but its a really easy read. One bit made me cry, and it seemed entirely irrelevant to the plot... which is a bit mean. But still.
  2. I just made a little booklist of titles mentioned in this thread which I haven't read. Am I insane?
  3. I haven't read The Host, though I think I might. And she should finish Midnight Sun next. Its her own fault it got leaked, so she shouldn't punish the fans who were so eager to read it!!!! It gave the initial Twilight book SO much more depth, it really did, and it was only half a draft.
  4. I think I'm just bitter because such a potentially great story wasn't executed very well.
  5. But see this is the thing. No big fight, its all about the peace, love and peace talks, coz THATS realistic. And its all about the happily ever afters, coz THATS realistic too. You know what I think annoyed me more than anything actually about it: So basically my main problem is how the entire Twilight series is like one epic adventure fantasy romance story, with everything that isn't directly related to the cutesy bits being cut out. And everybody hates Jacob coz hes essentially the only padding the story has, and its primarily to show off just how great Bella and Edward are together. /rant.
  6. Ohhh thank you!

This is a neat little feature!

  7. Oh I love the old fashioned talking and writing! Its beautiful! I'm a grammar nazi (despite my poor grammar on here I know >_<) and I have this thing about decent articulation. Old books just phrased things so beautifully, and all the 'shall's and 'I would it were's and *sigh* I wish people still spoke that way.
  8. I have two modules in college this year, Romance and Realism and 18th Century Lit... or is it Victorian Lit... I don't care, either way its 4-6 more classics that are required reading in the next 4 months!!! =D
  9. So, if nothing else, reading restores our faith in the possibilty of at least the notion of great men, and provides guidelines for silly mortal men!
  10. Hehe you have great taste! Tim is not to everyones liking, but I worship the man.
  11. I'm noticing a lotta raving about that trilogy around this place =P I may have to check them out too, I've been looking for another trilogy/set of four. I love trilogies though. I have OCD, and I like things that come in threes.
  12. Its Tim Minchin. Look him up. Hes amazing. Utterly, amazing. Look up 'Rock N Roll Nerd' and 'Dark Side.' I won't spam too much here about him lest I attract a telling off from the PTB, but hes amazing.
  13. My best friend is a guy, who I adore utterly. He despises vampires, and I think a little part of him died when I joined team Edward along with his girlfriend. He never stops going on about how much he hates Edward. Edward Cullen. Sexier than you since 1901.
  14. HAHA I'd say exactly the same about my head. I quote a great singing comedian when I say: This is my brain, and I live in it. Its made of love and bad song lyrics. Its tucked away behind my eyes, Where all my ****ed up thoughts can hide, Coz God forbid I hurt somebody. And the weirdest thing about a mind, Is that every answer that you find, Is the basis of a brand new cliche... This is my brain, and its fine. Its where I spend the vast majority of my time, its, Not perfect, but its mine. ^______^ Cookies to anyone who know who the singer is.
  15. I don't currently have a boyfriend. I think all my talk about Mr. Darcy scares them away.
  16. Fictional worlds are a huge escape for me. I love getting lost in them. I've read ever since I was tiny, as well. My parents bought my brother and I not very subtle books like the 'Tell Me Why' series haha. I used think all kids got nerdy sciencey books at christmas. And my mum used always bring me home library books, some of the best kids books I've read were ones she picked out for me or my brother, like The Castle In The Attic. ^_____^
  17. Ever since I was little I said that when I have my own house as an adult, one room will be a book room/computer room/office for me. (I'll have my laptop in there, a PC if it exists can be somewhere else.) And it will be a little dark room, maybe no windows, maybe one, and it will have no wallspace at all, it will be all dark wooden bookcases, and a red carpet, and books stored floor to ceiling, and a wooden desk with a lamp and a laptop. ^_____^ If anyone has read Inkheart, I want rooms like Eleanor's =P
  18. I read a few books at once usually, but of different sorts so nothing gets too dull. Like right now I'm reading Slash's autobiography, but then I want something a little less serious, so I read Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and then I want something less disturbing so I go read Madame Bovary.... haha.
  19. In my parents house, i have a 4 shelf bookcase in my bedroom full of books, and here in my college house I have a cupboard which has shelves in it, and two shelves are taken up with books.
  20. And yet there are many who would think us sad for having our heads in books rather than the real world =P
  21. I think it would be more embarrassing not to be a reader at all! Tis better to have read some c**p, then never to have read at all!
