  1. I suspect the characters who had less to do in this film will probably have more prominent roles in the next film.
  2. Ah yes, the one day a year we get to celebrate 5 good films and 4 poor ones!
  3. I am no expert, but the Author's Copyright Edition comment may be significant. I'd suggest Googling that to see what it means. You may have a rare book, or you may not, but that looks encouraging to me! Good luck!
  4. So you're a Steve Rogers fan, I'm guessing?
  5. I thought that was one thing they handled quite well; the characters all got some screen time without any one character dominating.
  6. I don't remember when I last bought a book, past odd Kindle purchases, but today I picked up a print copy of Doctor Who: The Day of the Doctor by Steven Moffat. I've heard a lot of good things about this, and am looking forward to reading it!
  7. So on the first day of my holiday where the weather is acceptable, do I get out in the fresh air and go for a nice long walk? No, I sit in a dark room for three hours watching people hit each other. Yep, it was Avengers: Infinity War Major spoilers ahead!
  8. I didn't care for the prequels at all, but The Force Awakens was fun and Rogue One was pretty good as well, but The Last Jedi just blew it all out of the window again. Looking forward to seeing the new Avengers film, though!
  9. ^ if that is the musical version of The War of the Worlds, it is very good, but the book is different and a lot better!
  10. Next month, I believe (this is how apathetic I am towards Star Wars these days; I don't even know - or really care - when the net film is out!).
  11. ^ I watched it for the second time on Sunday. I didn't find it as jarring as the first viewing, and having watched it again I can now see why they made some of the choices they did, but I couldn't shake a feeling of apathy whilst I watching it.
  12. The plot and the characterisation, probably.
  13. I say, it is a shade warm outside...
  14. I haven't read these since I was a teenager. I don't really have a problem with counting them, but I still think I should have read more novels than the four I have so far this year. I have started another that I am reading in parallel with these, however!
  15. Found my old Asterix books this weekend. Feels a bit of a cheat to list them, but they are books that I have read, so...
  16. Really feels like the first day of Sprummer* today. *It's too late for the first day of Spring, too early for the first day of Summer.

    Your Age?

I'm older than I was the last time I posted in this thread.
  20. Read 7 books so far this year (a point I didn't reach until October last year!). For anyone who is interested, Hard-boiled Wonderland and the End of the World is probably one of the best Haruki Murakami I've read! I might get around to doing a review at some point but, you know, life etc.
  21. I re-read books quite regularly. Some, like The Day of the Triffids and The War of the Worlds, I have read over over ten times each over the last thirty years and I'm still finding things I missed the first time around.
  22. If you think of the entire series as one story, then the opening two-parter is effectively the cold opening before the title credits roll. The second half of the series is undeniably better than the first, and the series as a whole definitely isn't perfect, but I enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes next.
