I have the paperback and found it got wearing after a while (Moffat, as ever, is trying to be that little bit too clever...). Rose, by Russell T. Davis is much better!

Always thought it was a bit odd that they were running two loyalty schemes at the same time. I like the stamp cards, there's something a tad old-school about them that appeals to me. I currently have one that is half-full, so I'm guessing I'll need to trade it in at some point! Good that they are giving half points for spending a fiver, when a lot of books are in the £7-9 range.

How about Breakfast at Tiffanys? A good modern classic! I'd also second Moby Dick.

Finished my 17th of the year on Saturday, which is one more than I managed for the whole of last year. Aiming for 30 this year, but will be happy if I make it to 26.

I'll say! Lots of stuff coming out of San Diego Comiccon today, including a new trailer, and it all looks new and fresh! Looking forward to this!

I completely understand the 'dark film' comment. I don't understand why films are so dark in the cinema. The Force Awakens was dreadful, you couldn't see any detail when Rey was exploring the crashed Star Destroyer, but on Blu-ray it was fine.

Spirited Away For the first time in quite a long time, and it's been far too long! I may have to go on a Ghibli retrospective now!

Well, I've been putting it off for years, as there is no new content out there to read* but I finally started The Chrysalids this week. I'm now nearly half way through, having done most of that in one sitting, and I don't want this book to end - I've not enjoyed a book this much for ages! *Well, there is some, but it is not supposed to be that great!

Thanks for that! I've been looking at this series for a while now and wondering if it was worth a punt; downloaded now and I will give it a try!

Two points, though - Firstly, the book in question may be out of copyright (which I don't suspect is the case, but it could be) and secondly, regardless of the above, I don't believe copyright precludes fair use for commentary or review purposes.

That's still on my to-read list!

The Lord of the Rings? Pretty safe content wise, but not a children's book.
