  1. Have you read Lies Sleeping yet? That features more Molly!
  2. New series drops on Thursday! Will anyone else be watching?
  3. Interesting. For spoilery reasons (that I won't go into here) I felt this book was a drawing of a line under the recent story. Given the synopsis for the next one, I definitely think series is going to go off in another direction (for a while, at least!).
  4. Well, that went to plan* (*the plan all England World Cup games seem to follow!)
  5. Nope, my mistake, it is another graphic novel. The release schedule as it stands appears to be: 12/11/19: Action at a Distance (GN) 14/11/19: False Value (Novel) 10/11/20: The Fey and the Furious (GN) No dates: Agent Reynolds novella Nightingale novella I'm hopeful the above dates are correct, but I know from past experience that they can change so I'll believe them when I'm holding the above in my grubby little hands...
  6. ^ Remembrance of the Daleks is worth a read, it's the novelisation of a Sylvester McCoy story that Aaronovitch wrote (the other two are original novels).
  7. There is a graphic novel out in November that has Nightingale investigating a case in 1957 that is supposed to give some more information on his back story during the war. The novella I mentioned above is supposed to be set before the war.
  8. Hope you have a good birthday, and that it won't be ruined by the England win!
  9. Well, the first episode of the Starz TV series went out in the US last night, but I haven't heard if/when/where it will be shown in the UK (Amazon Prime is a possibility as that is showing it in other territories). Having seen the trailer I'm not convinced, but I'll certainly give it a go.
  10. November seems a long way away! EDIT: Just been looking on Amazon and they have the next two novels listed; one for this and one for next year - along with their synopsis, which seems a bit odd!
  11. Pyramids is in July's monthly sale.
  12. My [minor] criticism is:
  13. Watched the Director's Cut of Alien 3 on Sunday night. Was a much better film than I remember the theatrical cut being, but I found myself thinking that it strikes an odd parallel with The Last Jedi in a lot of ways.
  14. It won't take you long to get through! Re-reading because The October Man is similar in a lot of ways to Rivers of London (both are introductions to new characters, but in the case of the former it is somewhat a mirror of the latter).
  15. Pretty much my thinking as well!
  16. Anyone interested in dinosaurs? The Rise and Fall of the Dinosaurs by Steve Brusatte is 99p on Kindle today. Not read it myself, but I've heard it is pretty good.
  17. The above is on hold for the moment, until I can get a copy of The Secret People! In the meantime, reading The October Man has led to me re-reading Rivers of London (again!).
  18. 3 wasn't too bad. I believe the directors cut is better than the theatrical release and I have that to watch at some point. 4 had it's moments, but was pretty poor overall (despite Jean-Pierre Jeunet directing a Josh Whedon script).
  19. Aliens (Special Edition) It's years since I last watched this. The effects have dated, but it is still a very good film.
  20. Finished it this afternoon (being a novella it is only 180 pages long). I enjoyed it, but I do have a minor criticism that I won't share until you've read it!
  21. No, I don't believe so. I think it falls under the category of "fair use", provided you aren't publishing a picture of every page!
  22. Half way through October Man, the new novella that was published this week, and the first to not be written from Peter Grant's POV (indeed, it is set entirely in Germany - so far!).
  23. I Am Legend, by Richard Matheson is 99p on the Kindle today. Very good, if you haven't read it!
