  1. Could be worse, could have been Twilight . . .
  2. They are on YouTube as well.
  3. I'm reading that now and can recommend it too! A very well written and researched fiction book, set around the code-breakers at Bletchley Park, is Robert Harris' Enigma. It also paints a pretty vivid picture of what it was like to live in wartime England.
  4. No, he's rubbish, just fluff before the real story starts/continues! A completely unnecessary character, why do you thin he wasn
  5. The Unfinished Tales, is probably what you are thinking of, and there is also the Tales From a Perilous Realm.
  6. Fair enough! I just found it a bit of a let-down after the detail and much broader story of Lord of the Rings (Rivendell was particularly disapointing!). I really must give The Silmarillion a go sometime . . .
  7. Personally, I wouldn't! (after reading Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit is like reading Tolkien Lite). Basically, you are shifting from an adult book to a children's book, that is heavy on singing and fluff. It is interesting to a point - for back story - but don't expect great things as it is aimed at a completely different audience.

    Hi mollie!
  10. I'll remind you of that when you have a Team Edward T-shirt and matching avatar!
  11. I haven't felt like this since I found out Santa wasn't real . . .

Not been so good recently then . . .
  13. He played Jeff ("Brrreasts!") in Coupling.
  14. Now it comes out, the literary crack-heads who need their new-book hit and those who are content to live with the puff of second-hand books or the methadone fix of libraries, tis a sad business I tell ye! (I'm down to ten or so new books this year, and a smattering of second-hand titles!).
  15. Shh! It's keeping them all in one place!
  16. I think it was a soap powder commercial . . .
  17. Just on the off-chance anyone is interested, a colleague I work with has a number of the early Clarecraft Discworld figures he is looking to get rid of. He's planning to put them on e-bay, but I thought I would mention them here first just in case anyone is interested. The figures he has include the three witches, the Night Watch, and Teppic the Assassin. If anyone is interested, drop me a PM and I'll send you the full list.
  18. So do I. I'm really annoyed I didn't get the hardback of it when it originally came out, it was a lovely little book.
  19. Too tall, he's completely the wrong build for a Hobbit. There are plenty of other roles he could play though . . .
  20. There is a rumour doing the rounds that The Waters of Mars may be screened on Halloween evening, as October 31st is a Saturday. Plus two episodes of The Sarah Jane Adventures and, as another rumour has it, another Children in Need special.
  21. Yeah, Doctor Two, part Timelord, part Donna - Rose is going to be so happy when she works that one out!
  22. I've not read any of them either, in fact I think I've only ever read one Booker nominated novel and that was the 2003 winner, Vernon God Little, by DBC Pierre.
  23. Erotic novels. (You can wipe that drink off your monitor now!).
  24. I'm walking the South-West Costal footpath, with a dog called Boogie.
