  9. Charm

    Newbie!

    Hi RCee to the forum!
  10. Just wait til you read Broken Angels! Another great review on your blog, I posted a comment
  11. A far more accurate account of the events of that fateful morning... Baby bear goes downstairs, sits in his small chair at the table. He looks into his small bowl. It is empty. 'Who's been eating my porridge?' he squeaks. Daddy Bear arrives at the big table and sits in his big chair. He looks into his big bowl and it is also empty. 'Who's been eating my porridge?!?' he roars. Mummy Bear puts her head through the serving hatch from the kitchen and yells: "For God's sake!! How many times do I have to go through this with you idiots??? It was Mummy Bear who got up first. It was Mummy Bear who woke everyone in the house. It was Mummy Bear who made the coffee. It was Mummy Bear who unloaded the dishwasher from last night and put everything away. It was Mummy Bear who swept the floor in the kitchen. It was Mummy Bear who went out in the cold early morning air to fetch The newspaper and croissants. It was Mummy Bear who set the damn table. It was Mummy Bear who walked the bloody dog, cleaned the cat's litter tray, gave them their food, and refilled their water. And now that you've decided to drag your sorry bear-asses downstairs and grace Mummy Bear with your grumpy presence, listen carefully, because I'm only going to say this once.... 'I HAVEN'T MADE THE F***ING PORRIDGE YET!!!" Courtesy of Poppy
  12. I'm just about to get stuck in to a Weightwatchers mint choc top ice cream dessert. I know, I know, a contradiction in terms there, but believe it or not they are delicious!
  13. No contest really is there?
  14. I'm so glad you're enjoying Dexter! Phew! Aren't his oneliners brilliant? I found myself laughing outloud on a regular basis! I've never read anything like this series before and I love it! If you want to go straight into Dexter in the Dark you go right ahead, it could be a couple of weeks before I start it.
  15. I loved your comment about reading in sync! :haha: What on earth goes on in your head???

  16. On the other hand, we don't speak to any of my OH's family, its a very long story but I believe we're better off. The saying goes, you can pick your friends but not your family, I don't believe that. I think you have to work at a relationship no matter who the other person is, boyfriend, husband, sibling, friends. Just because someone is a blood relation doesn't give them carte blanche to treat me like **** and get away with it. If I believe I'm better off cutting ties then so be it and unfortunately the relationship between OH's relatives and my family was bad for us. It was my OH's wish and I agreed. Simple as that!

  17. Thanks for your kind words about my Dad, I think he would have been so proud of me & that makes me happier.

That's such a shame about your brother, I do understand tho. Luckily one of my brothers and I are very close, I'm 4 yrs younger & when he got his 1st car, naturally I thought :yahoo: We used to go to loads of places together and he took me everywhere. I luv him to bits.

  18. I think you'll like it. It is beautifully written and very descriptive, I want to visit half of Europe now including Bulgaria (I've been before but I was only 12), Italy (I love Italian food :o) Istanbul and Transylvania! (it does still exist doesn't it?? ) I can't wait to read your review :D

I edited the first post in The Historian bookring thread, just to let people know to pm you instead of me. Oh and btw its 704 pages long! Enjoy! :D

  19. Me too! I was the youngest of 5 (I've got 2 brothers and 2 sisters) and its a running joke how spoilt I was, being the youngest. Personally I don't think so of course! :drama: But I was a real Daddy's girl and totally spiralled into a depressive haze when he died 8 yrs ago. I'm a lot better now. Your family's affections sound a lot like mine. :)

My house has changed since the Piper pics were posted, I dont live there anymore  The house I'm in at the min is nowhere near ready to be photographed yet! Its still not finished. I was thinking of doing before and after albums, but I just havent gotten around to it!

We seem to be reading a lot of the same things lately ;) Nice to hear the Sookie books are short easy reads, there's so many of them!!

  20. Well I'm glad you liked it, I feel redeemed now! Edit - changed smiley, didnt look right
  21. I knew you'd like the fairytale element! I didn't want to mention those in case I spoilt things (I do tend to peek at spoilers too and for some reason thought you may do the same ) That's my fav Montanari book so far, soooo pleased you liked it!
  22. Mini review?? Thats an essay!! but a good one! I'm so sorry you didn't 'get' this book, especially as I recommended it! I myself wasn't confused at all and found it pretty easy to follow. Perhaps your right about not having read 'The Rosary Girls', it might have helped. What about Broken Angels, is it any better?
  23. Don't be scared! I know exactly how you feel but you might surprise yourself, I did! I always read yours, always have, and you're page is on one of may subscribed ones Well lets see, you told us your thoughts, a bit about the book along wiht an insight to the plot and helped me to make up my mind if I wanted to read it or not. A review! So I'm reliably told by Ceinwenn constantly
  24. Why on earth would you want to post on your own profile???:lol: Thats like talking to yourself! Mind you .... I do that a lot :giggle:

  25. 9/10 today for me. That was hard today! I was so slow
