  1. Oh I'm glad you liked it . I thought The Rosary Girls was brilliant as well! This would have to be my favourite Montanari I've read so far, I hope you enjoy it too
  2. Hey Bethany! Hope you're well and having a good week. I've just read the most fantastic book which I think you'd love. Its called 'Cause For Alarm by Erica Spindler'. Check out my reading thread for all the info. Hope to see you back soon :D

  3. I loved it and can really recommend it, I think you would like it frankie. The SWF element of the book is only part of the story, there's so much more in there. Its also told by most of the main characters so you really get to know what makes each one tick without being confusing or complicated. It is really a dark and thrilling read with the main killer being like something you'd expect to find in a Deaver novel. Do check it out.
  4. I've read this recently too and I'm so looking forward to the rest of the series.
  5. I hope you're enjoying it Nicola I've just started The Empty Chair, I hope it doesn't take too long to get into like others found it
  6. Oh I think you'll like this Heather
  7. "What the hell d'you do that for? Lucy gasped, her hands stinging from the impact with the ground. "Don't move! Ned and Jesse, you either." The Empty Chair by Jeffrey Deaver
  8. She came here to lay flowers at the place where the boy died and the girl was kidnapped. The Empty Chair by Jeffrey Deaver
  9. Ooh this sounds interesting. Looking forward to hearing what you think of it.

  11. Hi Rosalind :006: Glad to see you're settling in well. I hope you're enjoying the forum :D

  12. That's some TBR pile Rosalind, I thought mine was bad! I've read a lot of Karin Slaughter, Kathy Reich, J K Rowling and Cecilia Ahern books, also loads of vampire reads but none of those on your list. Think I may have to check them out Have you read any Tess Gerritsen or Richard Montanari? You may like them if you like Karin Slaughter and Kathy Reich.
  13. Whoa! Good for you frankie!! That's impressive! I hope it stays with you for ages
  14. Oh I am definately interested and I can't wait to read them! thank you!
  15. Cause for Alarm by Erica Spindler was sent to me by Lexiepiper, and boy am I glad she did! Synopsis courtesy of Waterstones: Their dream became a nightmare...Nineteen year-old Julianna Starr has chosen Kate and Richard to be more than the parents of her child. Julianna knows that Richard is the man of her fantasies, the one she's been waiting for.As tormented Julianna begins to mould herself in Kate's image, she insinuates herself into Richard's life, determined to tear their perfect marriage apart and have Richard for herself. But for Kate and Richard, the nightmare has only begun. Because Julianna is not alone. From her dark past comes a man of unspeakable evil... My thoughts: The synopsis doesn't nearly do this book justice. At first when I started reading it I thought it was a bit chicklit, then after a few chapters the author really started drawing me in. This is definately a thriller but Ms Spindler does an excellent job of delving deeper into her subject's characters to the point where you feel you know them. I loved the principle character and really felt for her during her highs and lows. The novel has two main female characters who's lives blend and come together brilliantly, albeit at the hands of one of them. This book has it all, love, betrayal, murder and adultery with a twisted killer thrown in. I most definately recommend it and will definately be reading more of Erica Spindler's books. 10/10 from me.
  16. We don't celebrate Mid Summer here although next Sun is Father's Day. We will be going to friends to stay over and if the weather is good they'll be having a bar-b-que. Not sure how if we'll stay the full weekend, we have a dog and am considering leaving my son, who's just turned 16, to stay here overnight on his own to mind the dog. He probabaly won't want to go anyway, he's not really fussed on going out with his Mum Dad and wee sister anymore! If he does stay on his own I'll let him have one of his friends stay too, just one mind you, I figure between the pair of them they could manage not to burn the house down :icon_eek: This will be his first time home alone overnight, its a really big deal and I'm as nervous as hell about it!

Not sure if I'd like to go spend 4 days in a cottage with people I don't really know, is there nothing else you could do? Although I suppose you could take a stack of books with you ;)

  17. Hey you  I know exactly how you feel about your bcf mojo, especially as nothing much is happening here at the min. I'm the same and the plus is I'm getting more reading done! As for the weight thing, I have lost a couple of more lbs but nothing to write home about and I haven't exactly been good myself :o

You're right though, Dexter does appear to be getting a bit of interest now and quite rightly so! Did you know Jeff Lindsay is on Facebook? I tried to leave a message but it doesnt show up  Think I may have to write to him and mention our flattering little thread and how we are gathering him up a merry little band of followers!

Always good to see you back hun

  18. I'd have probably said the same!
  19. I know, I'm not sure what they are either, like a cross between zebras and hippos?? They are cute anyway. I was out today shopping for new bedding for Kookies new room, got some pretty stuff for her too, think she'll like it. So tomorrow will be spent hanging curtains and moving her stuff into it, I don't mind though I like that type of thing. Hope you get a lovely day tomorrow for a nice relaxing reading day! xo :D
  20. A woman was sitting at a bar enjoying an after work cocktail with her girlfriends when Steven, a tall, exceptionally handsome, extremely sexy, middle-aged man entered. He was so striking that the woman could not take her eyes off him. This seasoned yet playful heartthrob noticed her overly attentive stare and walked directly toward her. (As any man would.) Before she could offer her apologies for staring so rudely, he leaned over and whispered to her, "I'll do anything, absolutely anything, that you want me to do, no matter how kinky, for $20.00... on one condition." Flabbergasted but intrigued, the woman asked what the condition was. The man replied, "You have to tell me what you want me to do in just three words." The woman considered his proposition for a moment, and then slowly removed $20 bill from her purse, which she pressed into the man's hand along with her address. She looked deeply and passionately into his eyes, barely concealing her anticipation and excitement, and slowly and meaningfully said.... "Clean my house."
