    Rugby

Well Inver, what an incredible game! Scotland played some incredible rugby today (even if they were helped by the ref along the way, lol) & certainly didn't deserve to lose. They played much better than Wales did & if it's any consolation my OH is well p*%sed that Wales won the way they did & had reallu been rooting for Scotland to win because of how badly Wales was playing!
  2. runner - I used to be a competitve cyclist when I was younger & up until my move over here to Europe I used to cycle to & from work every day, which was a 20km cycle each way. I loved it! Since moving over here I have tried to continue with my cycling as much as possible, but it has been far from easy. I don't currently own a bike, but do plan to get a new one & will begin cycling to work again, though from where I currently live it'll only be about 4km to work, then 4km back, luckily it's a very hilly route, though.
  3. I think we just keep missing each other, lol! Though that said, I only make it on here every few days. I did get your email - sorry very unfriendly of me to not respond to it! I am glad that you liked the necklace & that Rachel liked hers too. I was pretty unsure about Rachel's especially!

Things are crazy at work, but it'll be fine, I'm sure. So what have you been up to?

  4. Yea!! I was waiting eagerly for the next installment!
  5. Hi Vicky! Just passing through & thought I'd say "Hi & welcome to the forum!"

  6. Greetings from Arnold, Nottingham, Vicky! Welcome to the forum!
  7. No, most definitely not! Hey, at least Patterson got a start out of it! My OH & I are taking part in a fantasy league & at the moment I'm kicking his butt, but I'm in 3025th place overall, lol! I think it's going to be a toss-up between Italy, Wales & Scotland for the bottom of the table this year! (Don't tell my OH I said that, though!)

  8. Am still reading Picture Perfect, but not really enjoying it. Have also started reading Certainty by Madeleine Thien.
  9. Simply because of the nature of the books (computer users being murdered because of their computer use), the 2 most disturbing books I have read are The Blue Nowhere & The Broken Window. Both are by Jeffery Deaver & scared the bejesus out of me because what happened in the books could soooooo easily happen in real life! So much so that I completely stopped using loyalty cards of ANY variety!
  10. And then she read The Broken Window & now she's paranoid about computer hackers, lmao! Scary how real it all could be! Excellent review, Lexie
  11. We had turkey mince, Dolmio winter veg pasta sauce & whole wheat spaghetti. It was lovely.
  12. Mine was the female lead character in the Arthur books by Bernard Cornwell, though he spells it incorrectly (he spells it Ceinwyn, which is the male spelling Welsh names ending in wyn are always male). I loved the name, so I decided to take it as my username (& if I am lucky enough to ever have a daughter, that will be her 1st name as my OH also loves it)
  13. Well, according to Jeffery Deaver's website, the right to The Blue Nowhere has been purchased by Warner Bros & Joel Silver is producing the movie..............
  14. Melisa, it is one of those rare Jeffery Deaver books that while I liked it, it didn't grip me. I found myself having to chose to read it, rather than needing to read it, which is usually the case with his books. Don't get me wrong, there was nothing wrong with this book, I just thought that it was very un-Deaveresque & therefore no where near as good.
  15. Can't comment on the film, Janet as I haven't seen it. You really do have to suspend disbelief to enjoy this book, or at least that was how I felt, otherwise you spend the whole time going "Yeah right, like that could/would possibly happen!" Once I decided to do that & stop being so jaded about everything I really did enjoy it though.
  16. The Cure - Excellent movie, I sobbed like a small child! The Notebook & My Sister's Keeper. I think that's it.
  17. I'm definitely a born reader. My Mom is a massive reader, my Dad - not so much (unless it is the newspaper, then he is a voracious reader! ) Mom got us all started really early & all 4 of her kids read loads for pleasure.
  18. For #78 I read Q&A (AKA Slumdog Millionaire) by Vikas Swarup. I found it to be a very quick paced read & well written. I did find it a little OTT that Ram Mohammed Thomas had had so much happen to him in his short life, but I guess that's the point, isn't it. If you haven't read this yet (hard to believe that there are many who haven't after all the hype around the movie, lol), I would highly recommend it!
  19. I've read Message in a bottle & A bend in the road & quite liked them both. They were nice easy reads & I can see myself picking up some of his others when I want some lighter reading.
  20. I'm going to guess 4th of July. I know I've definitely read the 1st & 2nd & possibly the 3rd & really enjoyed them!
  21. Finally! Someone said Waga!!! I love that place, could eat there every day! The rest of the chain restaurants I could take or leave, but there is a fab Japanese teppanyaki restaurant down the road from me that we eat at every so often.
  22. Just passing through, thought I would say "Hi!". Hope all's well with you & yours!
