Yeah, I had noticed that the Police Station has changed completely! I think Henriksson looks older in this series - much older.

Linda was his daughter & she was in the 1st series of films. She was a brilliant character & a fantastic actress, but when the new series of films started there was no mention of where Linda had gone, or why she was no longer with the Ystad police, alongside her father. I always wondered if Mankell had written her out as some sort of grief thing over Stefan dying.......guess not quite what happened.

Darling, Delectable, Delicious Dexter
Ceinwenn replied to Ceinwenn's topic in Crime / Mystery / Thriller
No, I hadn't! So much for the story that it was going to be 2 years before the next Dexter book. Right, I'm off to pre-order! -
Grrrrrrrr! I tried to do this, but it won't let me complete the order for some stupid reason! Keeps telling me to enter my address - I HAVE ENTERED MY ADDRESS!!!!

Today I finished reading No Time for Goodbye by Linwood Barclay. I loved it!

I've read most of her books & some I absolutely loved (My Sister's Keeper, Keeping Faith, Plain Truth, Change of Heart) while others I have absolutely HATED! (The Tenth Circle, Songs of the Humpback Whale, Picture Perfect). I find she can be real hit & miss, a couple really good ones followed by a right stinker, but that's just my opinion.

I don't watch Hollyoaks, but the males of the cast will be staying at my hotel at the end of the month. They will be in town for a charity football match & they stay with us every year.

I was trolling the internet the other day, looking at Wallander related stuff & was astounded to find out why Linda Wallander is no longer on the series! I had always wondered why she wasn't in the 2nd series & from my recollection, they never talk about where she has gone. THIS is what I found out. Such a shame! I had heard that this was going to be the last series that Krister Henriksson is in, which, to be eloquent, really sucks! He will always be Wallander to me.

I started reading No Time for Goodbye by Linwood Barclay last night, then picked it up again this morning. I'm loving it!

Well, the unfortunate thing is that what I have said, while flawed in logic, is actually true. For instance, if your partner uses your credit card/bank card to buy a pizza, for example, there is absolutely nothing stopping you from calling your bank & refuting the charges because it wasn't you that used the card. We've been stung by this at work far too many times & every single time the bank/credit card company has made us refund the transaction.........

Except her son committed fraud. I know from my job that if she really pressed the issue, they would refund the entire amount as Facebook/Zynga didn't legally have the right to charge the card as her son was not the card holder. He broke the law by using someone else's card, pure & simple. We don't know that she hasn't taught her son right from wrong. I would suspect that if asked he would admit that he knew that what he did was wrong so ultimately he has to be held accountable for is actions, not her & her credit rating!

Unfortunately, Beverley has partaken of the rose wine this evening at her recorder group, and unlike the Old Lady, cannot hold her drink. ... Unfortunately Beverley didnt get to publish this song as she was tragically killed in a car accident on 2nd November 2009. Rest in peace Beverley. ...(Well, I didn't know I had died!) Unfortunately Beverley declared it to be the hate-weed-of-the-month and pulled the whole lot up. We're both rather like that, actually. ... Unfortunately, Beverley attacked and stole the Ilkley line and Umberto Cuozzo came off his wing at pace, to score under the posts ... Unfortunately, Beverley experienced a mechanical 3km into the race, her bars slipped down significantly, causing her to have a more challenging race than ...

What are you planning to watch on TV today/tonight
Ceinwenn replied to Johnny Carson Whit's topic in Music / TV / Films
Currently watching Britain's Got Talent, then going to watch Wallander. -
Canteloupe. It's lovely!

We always called it French Toast, but I have never had the savoury variety - didn't know anyone actually made it that way! We use a couple eggs, more than a dash of milk & a drop of vanilla. Dip in the bread (I always use multigrain) & fry in a non-stick pan. Growning up my dad would grate sharp cheddar onto a slice, then put another piece on top, to make a sandwich, then we would smother it in maple syrup & have it with bacon. I think I may just make this for breakfast tomorrow morning!

Brannah and Stott v Wallander and Rebus
Ceinwenn replied to runner's topic in Crime / Mystery / Thriller
Well, I am not so sure now. I went onto the Wallander/Henning Mankell site & it shows a further 7 shows with Krister Henriksson...........unfortunately, it does seem that there are to be no English subtitles on the movies from #18 The Cellist - Cellisten, onward. -
Brannah and Stott v Wallander and Rebus
Ceinwenn replied to runner's topic in Crime / Mystery / Thriller
Pickle, I so agree with you about Wallander. I tried watching the BBC series with Branagh & it was awful! To me, there will never be anyone other than Krister Henriksson as Wallander. mirandashell - you have just made my weekend!!!! I had no idea there was Wallander back on BBC!! I'm a bit wary - according to tvguide.co.uk it says it's episode 1 of 13, but when you click on the link to look at the episode guide it says that there are only 2 more with Henriksson, then they are all Branagh...........so excited, yet so let down! It was interesting to see that I am by far not the only one who feels like I do about the British "adaptation" of Wallander. http://www.tvguide.co.uk/detail.asp?id=61632392
