  1. Well, I meant considering the current economic situation, lol & especially as I came home to 3 books being delivered to me the other day & he made comment that I could stop buying books now, lol!
  2. Trust you to say that! Miss vampire weirdo herself!
  3. Hey girlie! Yeah, I know, then I went into The Works & found 3 books for
  4. Hi Nicola, thanks for be-friending me! Wanna hear (or read, I suppose) something funny? I come here to your page & the 1st thing I see is this line from frankie:

"Haa, my BF is also younger than me! He's 25 and I'm 27 so I know what it's like to have a younger BF.", which made me chuckle because my BF is also younger than me (& I take it so is yours?). Mine is 33 & I'm 37, so he's really a toyboy as my friends like to say!

  5. Phew! I was a bit worried there! My OH definately thinks I am weird for wanting to read about murders!
  6. It's been too many years since I saw the movie/read the book to remember that, but it sounds great! (Does that make me seem weird? I'm not, I promise!)
  7. Hello Joe! :welcome2:to the BCF!
  8. I agree, that Washington was an unusual choice considering that I imagined Rhyme to be caucasian (though I cannot recall if Deaver ever did specify that or if that's just the way I "saw" him?). My real issue with the film is Angelina Jolie. I don't like her as an actress & really think she was a bad choice to play Amelia Sachs. For me, she ruins the movie.
  9. :motz:Grrrrrrr! I still don't have them!!!
  10. Exactly my point!
  11. I think my favourite was Stavros Flately - the Cypriot man & his son? I thought they were brilliant & so funny. That woman who did the striptease shouldn't have made it through, imo!
  12. That, unfortunately, is how I felt about the whole book. Even the ending.
  13. Instead of coffee, could I have a mint hot choc? Preferably Aero? Thanks!
  14. I have to agree, I think the film-tie-in covers are blatent commercialism & are often no where near as nice as the original covers. I don't avoid them like the plague but given a choice between the two I would chose the non-tie-in one 100% of the time.
  15. Well, a big part of me did wonder if perhaps I have been neglecting my genre of choice. Nothing like a little murder mayhem & mystery to cheer a girl up! Hopefully choc chip?
  16. Well, I use the term loosely with reference to at least 3 of them. The Book Thief I have been reading for the past 20 years or so (I swear that's how it feels!) & I only just started 2 of the others & have read maybe 2 chapters in one & a couple pages of the other, then discarded them because they just weren't grabbing me. Luckily, Lee Child has a new book coming out really soon & I am also dying to get Michael J. Fox's new book, so maybe that'll be exactly what I need to fix my issues. Someone please tell me that will fix things!!
  17. Hi! My name is Ceinwenn & that (above) is exactly how I feel right now! I'm in the process of reading 5 different books & couldn't care a toss about any of them. This is not good!
  18. Hello Dreamyflo! :17:to the forum! There are a few of us on LibraryThing (myself included, as ceinwenn). Hope to see you around there, too!
  19. We're having garlic roasted chicken, cheddar mashed potatoes, peas, corn, cauliflower & carrots. Hmmmmmmm yum!
  20. I saw this fantastic ad last night............but now I can't remember anything about it! I must be an advertising exec's worst nightmare!
  21. I had chicken noodle soup & a little potato salad that's made with yoghurt, that I buy from Lidl
  22. Today I read A Bend in the Road by Nicholas Sparks & while it is predictable Nicholas Sparks, I really enjoyed it! 8.5/10
