  1. I read Midnight over 20 years ago and I can't even remember the storyline, however - it's stuck with me as a really good read and I then followed it up with: The Key to Midnight - which is the follow on book ( Ignore this I am talking rubbish!) - I enjoyed that one too! I would say that most of his earlier books I enjoyed, but I couldn't say if Midnight was typical as my memory isn't up to it I'm afraid!
  2. I remember really enjoying Midnight and this got me back into reading again a long time ago, but I really did not enjoy The Taking - I found it a bit dull. I have read many of his books, but ask me what they're about and I couldn't remember!
  3. I have enjoyed many Of James Herbert's books including Creed, but Once I really did not enjoy. I enjoyed the likes of The Enchanted Wood when I was young and loved this type of fantasy, but I just couldn't relate to Herbert's adult fairy tale!
  4. I agree Colin there are too many books out there, but occasionally I will dip into a children's book again - just for the memories.
  5. Hello and welcome!
  6. Hi and welcome to BCF!
  7. Very good actually thanks! - I'm having a very lazy, enjoyable week off work and I'm thoroughly enjoying it! :)

    hi!

  11. I really enjoyed this one and it was funny!, Just read a Jant Evanovich - Stephanie Plum novel and that had me chuckling too!
  12. Hi and welcome from me too! It's great here!
  13. Oh dear - Mines over 100 now!
  14. I read your review and thought that I recognised this story and I know I've definitely read it, but it's really bugging me that I can't remember where I got the book from as it isn't one I own. I certainly agree that it was a gripping read!
  15. I tend to agree - I don't think I've ever been frightened by a horror book that I've read and I'm not sure why really! I thought The Shining was a great film, but I've not read the book!
  16. I've not tried Oreos yet, I've generally not got a sweet tooth, but I guess others in the house will eat them if I don't!
  17. Hello and welcome!

    Hi there!

    Hi

    Hello!
  21. You remember better than me, I wouldn't have a clue which night it was on, but seem to recall it being 9:00pm. It was one of the highlights of the week in those days. 20 years ago now!
  22. You were lucky that's book was requested over 900 times - I almost thought about giving that one ago, but thought I had more chance with the thriller as I have quite a few thrillers on Librarything.
  23. I loved this show from the 80's and I've just watched the pilot for it this evening. Bruce Willis is so funny as David Addison - so cheeky and sweet! Talking of moons it made me think of The Clangers - I loved those little critters too! And talking of kids programmes I always wanted to be dressed up as Parsley the lion from The Herbs!
  24. Protect and Defend by Vince Flynn - I only requested that one and so was pleased to get it. Which did you get?
  25. I've got one this month too!
