  1. There are some good choices there. Happy reading!
  2. Sorry to bump this thread, but I thought I might as well go for it. I have over 100 books in my TBR pile. It is never ending. I buy them faster than I can read them. HELP!
  3. I would love to write a book, but I think being an author is a really hard job. I would like to have my career, then when life settles down and there is time I would like to write. . .BUT knowing me I will probably put it off like I do everything else
  4. Wow, I can't believe this thread lasted this long. My thoughts on them still haven't changed
  5. Wow, I have never read a book more than once. I normally throw it into the finished pile and then continue my search for the next gem.
  6. I never give myself a time limit. I am all over the map when it comes to reading time. If I gave myself a time limit I would only get disappointed.
  7. Wow, those are all great titles. . .and I have only read four of them! Looks like I have some work to do!
  8. It is hit and miss with me. Sometimes I'll read a book in a week, sometimes a month. This past year I hardly had time to read.
  9. I am a Texan guy on the run with one million dollars in cash. Oh, and there is this man chasing me for it. No Country for Old Men - Cormac McCarthy
  10. I normally don't look forward to book releases. I look forward to movie releases, but to me books are different. I like to roam the isles at the local book store and discover old titles. I find the ones I have never heard of tend to be some of the better reads. With that being said, I am looking forward to the new Dan Brown book. I hope it is more than just hype. Lets hope the book delivers. I am also looking forward to the new John Grisham book, whenever that will be.
  11. Hi everyone! I'm not sure if anyone remembers me here, so I thought I should say hello once again. I signed up in 2007 and I really enjoyed this site. However, life got so busy for me I was unable to find time to accommodate it. I barely had time to read:blush: The last time I talked to everyone here I was training to become a firefighter. I graduated as an Emergency Medical Responder. However, I realized my heart was not in it and there was an opportunity for me to go back to college to study Criminal Justice, something I have always wanted to do. I am now 3/4 through a Criminal Justice diploma and have switched sides now to become a police officer. It was by far the best decision I have ever made. If all goes well this fall, I should graduate with a Criminal Justice Diploma in December. My goal is to join the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). So I am working hard at my fitness again and trying to make my dream a reality. I did an internship with the local police force this summer. I had a blast and now I have a few weeks off before returning to school. I thought I would take the break and catch up on some reading and talk books with all of you. Cheers
  12. I was thinking of starting multiple books (only two at a time) over the winter break, but I am not sure if I could do it. I think one is the max for me. I wouldn't know which one to read and I would mix up characters
  13. Pasta and meatballs
  14. I don't read fast. I try to enjoy the book. I normally read before bed so I am relaxed and can imerse myself in the story. I do tend to stick to structured reading. I like to read a set number of pages a night. I normally set a goal for myself each night depending on how I feel.
  15. I enjoy both. I enjoy reading for fun and stories, but I also enjoy reading for knowledge and information. I like to keep it balanced. I enjoy my biographies. I would say I'm 50-50
  16. Shrimp Scampi
  17. Wow, that is pretty hardcore. I am glad to hear she gave the money to charity. It looks really cool too!
  18. I agree. I would really like to see these two films over the season. They both look good to me.
  19. Welcome Kate! I hope you enjoy this forum. It is a wonderful place and it is filled with many wonderful people. Enjoy and I hope you find some inspiration here!
  20. I have always wanted to read this, just never picked it up. I guess I thought it was outdated Seriously though, I really do want to read the book. I'm looking forward to what you think of it big-sis!
  21. Welcome Bill! Sorry I don't have any suggestions.
  22. I had lost mine a while ago, but I seem to have found it again. I think the break from studies has given me more time and given the time I will read!
  23. I will probably end up with a Chapters Gift Card which is nice because it lets me pick the ones I want. There is no way my family could keep track of what I read. They stoped that along time ago. They just give me the money and let me pick out the books
  24. I always wanted to read this, but I can never find it
