    Happy Birthday! :balloons:

  6. Well, that was a barrel of laughs. It was a good episode, but damn depressing.

Sorry to hear your sad news about your brother, Carm. :friends0:

  8. Did anyone see the series opener last night? What did you think? I thought it was pretty good. I missed the familiar situations though, such as Betty and Daniel being at Mode - I didn't like the new place. This also meant there wasn't enough Mark and Amanda! Wasn't Wilhelmina's b/w nursery a horror? I pity the baby that has to live in that! Betty herself annoyed me slightly with her stupidity over taking the apartment unseen. The new neighbour looks promising, and I suppose he will be the new love interest, but really... Does every unattached male Betty meets fall for her? What are the odds, really?
  9. I read the book in primary school and it was excellent, but I bawled my eyes out at the end and got really upset and vowed never to read it again. A few years later, I did read it again, got all upset again and vowed that this time I definitely would not read it again. Up to now, I haven't. Maybe I would be able to cope with it better now (I am such a soppy thing)! At secondary school we were forced to watch the film and I got upset all over again. It really is an excellent book though. When I got my own pet rabbit, I named her from the book (Acorn)!
  10. I'm currently over halfway through Artemis Fowl and the Time Paradox, and enjoying it. I've read all the others and liked them too. I do like Colfer's sly, sarcastic wit and the relationship between Holly and Artemis.
  11. Yes! I've read this book and it's brilliant! I was so impressed with it that I was going to write a review, but of course I never got round to it. You're right, it is fast paced and I didn't want to put it down either. I think I read it in two nights. I think there are a few fans of it on here, and I try to recommend it when I can. I could mention again that it's got recommendations by both Stephen King and Stephanie Meyer on the cover! That's good news about the second book coming out so soon.
  12. Happy Birthday!

  13. It fiddled me today! It wouldn't work properly so I had to go out and come back in, and it's put my time at 227 seconds!!
  14. So did I! I really enjoyed this week's episode too, it was very good (for Robin Hood standards). Next week's finale should be excellent.

  16. LOL! I was all set to recommend loads of titles, but most of them are depressing! If you don't mind a fantasy slant, try The Eyes of the Dragon, The Talisman or Rose Madder perhaps.
  17. Happy Birthday! :balloons:

  18. So am I! That is great news. It's my favourite programme at the moment. I haven't heard of Castle or Lie to Me, I'll have to go and look them up. And Nathan Fillion does seem to have a bit of a jinx about him! (I just have to mention that his death in Buffy was one of the most apt, deserved deaths I've ever seen. I'm sure all the guys watching must have had tears in their eyes.)
  19. Nice one Suzanna! :) I have joined, and am now pondering how to answer your opening question!

  20. But I've got to ask - which book was the half? And while we're at it, which was the one you finished? I'm in a nosey mood!
  21. Hurrah! I can't get Comedy Central, mind, but hurrah anyway!
  22. Ultraviolet (I think that's what it was called, I've tried to block it from my memory). It had Milla Jovovich in it anyway. The plot, such as it was, made virtually no sense and the battle scenes were ridiculous, and not in a good way! Example: our heroine faces 700 armed men. How does she get out of this unscathed? Merely by crouching down, thus avoiding all the bullets.
  23. Happy Birthday! :balloons:

  25. I have to say that I started Duma Key about 5 months ago, then put it back on the shelf, where it has stayed since. It seemed like it might get interesting, but I don't think I was in the right mood to read it at the time. Also, I'm not sure I liked the main character, but I do realise that I didn't give it much of a chance! I will return to it.
