'A' league is the one above them....they are actually at the bottom of the league played 4 lost 4....so to be honest the way they were playing there wasn't actually much between the two teams. We had a slight edge I would say but just unlucky with a couple of goals. The equaliser to get to 3-3 was a cracking goal for our striker, he took a shot into the box and it shot in off the post. Another good win for you then too Sedge....Wembley is in site...lol.

'Stolen' by Lesley Pearse Well this was a short read....! Ok...so you finish a really good book and want to try an author you haven't read before. Why did I pick this one of my shelf?? The blurb on the back sounded like quite a good storyline...girl washed up on the beach, no memory, how did she get there...blah blah. Well I have to say this was the best part of the book...! Yes it would make a really 'bad movie' with really 'bad actors' if made for a 'really bad movie channel'...don't read it. All I can say is I only got to page 42 and threw it away...! The writing was awful, the characters were awful and too nicey, nicey. Didn't like the background setting....it just wasn't my kind of read at all and I will not be reading any more of this author, even if some other reviewers disagree. Good luck to anyone else who gives this a go...! (in fact I don't even know why I gave it a star at all...!) 1/5

Would annoy my hubby too...he is a stickler for detail when it comes to tanks and planes etc in war movies. My son is going to see it tomorrow with some mates...see what he makes of it.

Well the fought hard and should have at least taken the game to extra time. U'17's had a cup game today against an 'A' league team...possibly at the bottom end of it. They scored in the first 3 mins and playing well, but it was one of those games that went back and forward 1-1, 2-1, 2-2, 3-2, 3-3....but unfortunately with about 8 mins to go they went 4-3 and finally ran out of time to get the equaliser. However Andy said the visiting team manager wished us luck in our league and hoped we win it...

I have just finished a good read.... 'Before the Storm' by Diane Chamberlain. Bought in Oxfam bookshop.....'The Husband's Secret' by Liane Moriarty...I think a few of you have maybe read this one.

'Before the Storm' by Diane Chamberlain A local church is burnt to the ground and the finger points at Andy Lockwood. Andy has Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder but he turns hero when he leads those trapped in the burning church to safety. Unfortunately there may be evidence against him.....could he have actually set the fire? Laurel, his mother believes her precious boy is innocent. She loves her son very much and will do all in her power to save him having lost him once when he was born she will not turn her back on him again. Maggie his sister loves her brother too and will protect him. Other characters Jamie, his dad, Marcus his Uncle. Each chapter is told by one of the characters, this seems to be the way of Diane's book, but it always adds to the writing and gives more of an incite into the characters. I didn't know what the outcome of this was going to be as I knew there was a follow on book 'Secrets She Left Behind'. The closer it got the end the more I wanted to know the outcome, but took my time and didn't read it too quickly in case I missed something important. There were a few twists towards the end I wasn't expecting but it didn't disappoint. I hope it isn't too long before I can read the next one...! 5/5 Recommend this one.

Just watched the first one tonight of this new series.....it is going to be good....1/8. That is Tuesday evenings sorted out now for a few weeks. Anyone else watch it ?

Clara is beginning to annoy me. Love Capaldi. Tonights episode was a bit strange.

Went to see 'What we did on our holiday' yesterday with a friend....it was very good. The 3 kids in it made the film and their banter with Billy Connolly was brilliant...laughed most of the way through it.

No game for Glendale last weekend. U'17's had their first defeat 3-2 last weekend. Had a better first half than second but couldn't find the equaliser to get a point out of the game. No games this weekend to report on. Hoping your winning run continues Sedge.

'The Villa in Italy' by Elizabeth Edmondson Review Here I had hoped for something more out of this read, not quite sure what. Pleasant enough, but not one that will stay with me.

'The Villa in Italy' by Elizabeth Edmondson Four total stranger are summoned to Italy to the Villa Dante. Beatrice Malaspina has named them in her will and each travel to see what fate will be bestowed upon them. Likable characters and enchanting descriptions of the villa and the gardens. A gentle building of the plot and bringing together of the mystery of how they are all linked to Beatrice. I enjoyed it enough but I was beginning to long for the conclusion. A few twists in the end but tied up neatly. It almost had the taste of an Agatha Christie mystery. 3/5

Still reading 'The Villa in Italy' and Before the Storm....but in the post yesterday they lovely Hayley has send me another Diane Chamberlain to add to the wobbly TBR pile....'Secret Lives'...looking forward to reading it.

Andy isn't too bothered about cup games...if they progress fair enough, but he really wants them to do well in the league. More positive though Scotland won a game...! 1-0 v Georgia.

Well the U'17's did well in the first half and kept it to 0-0, but 10 mins into 2nd half they lost a goal and then a few minutes later it was 2-0, unfortunately their luck ran out and had a defeat of 5-0. They looked a bit tired by the end but put in a good shift. Never mind, get back to concentrate on the league.

Flippin heck....where are they all coming from ? No Glendale game this weekend, but see how the u'17's get on with another cup game today....'A' league team so be up against it...fingers crossed.

sounds like there is no stopping you just now. Nothing to report over the weekend...no footie, 17's game called off due to the weather and waterlogged pitches etc and Glendale (fortunately maybe) had a free week.

Yes...it was really good, as is the book.

Yeh...I used to like him but it wasn't called for and should have been kept from public. Tom Watson is a lovely guy and maybe he didn't do things right for some, but if you are part of a team with a captain you have to respect his decision. Think his nose is just out of joint because the lost again. We are certainly doing something right with organisation etc and our choice of captains.

We had golf on all Saturday and all yesterday.....awesome golf from our guys and so chuffed they managed the win on home turf. I imagine some sore heads today.

Andy did get a game at 'old crocks'....and he was on the winning side 6-3 I think it was. He managed to get along to training on Wednesday and said he was available to play in needed (17's didn't have a game) to be told yeh, you will definitely be needed. So off he went on Saturday and he didn't even get a strip, so didn't even get on the bench. Very annoyed as there was a guy there who has been once to training and gets a game...! Needless to say they got beat ...3-1 and the team they were playing were garbage...so heavens knows how Glendale were playing! I think he is getting a bit disheartened with the whole attitude at the moment. Great to hear St A are doing so well.

Anyone else been watching it today.....great stuff to get a 5-3 lead going in to Saturday...come on the boys. It would be so good to win on home soil. Gleneagles looking fantastic in the sun..hope the weather holds for them over the weekend.
