'The Distance Between Us' by Maggie O'Farrell Review Here This was another charity sale find that I registered myself. I may now put it up on Bookcrossing or see if it is on anyones wishlist over there.

'The Distance Between Us' by Maggie O'Farrell I wasn't sure that I was enjoying this book but I kept with it. Initially I thought it was just going to be about two different people with no connection, but however it eventually came together. Stella and Jake not knowing of each others existence, one in London and the other in Hong Kong. Each have their own trauma and reasons for coming to Scotland and eventually their paths cross and so starts a turmoil of characters, will they won't they get together. I did find it hard to keep up with the number of characters in the book initially and the lack of chapters as such and found it slightly annoying at times, however things settled down once into the second half of the book. It is a story of love, trauma, the bond between sisters and a touch of mystery thrown in. I enjoyed it and the tiny twist at the end tidied it all together. 3/5

Well that was a great men's final today...glad it went to 5 sets, well worthy of it. They played some unbelievable tennis.

Just the arrogance annoys me.....probably end up being on the telly and watching though I guess.

I actually don't care who wins....not bothered about either of them...as you say Kay they have good/bad points...but both can play tennis a wee bit... Shame to see the Brits went out of the mixed double to..

Andy and some of the community coaching staff went to the Aberdeen Europa game tonight....good result for them too, the team they were playing sounded like they were a bit dirty players though....and had 9 yellows, 2 read and had someone sent to the stands..! Aberdeen 5-0 FK Daugava Riga.

Caught some of the mixed doubles today. I don't normally watch much of that have to say, but really enjoyed seeing the British pair get through and then to see 'big brother of Andy' Jamie and partner get through also....well done.

Ouchy Janet...hope it gets better soon.

Glad you enjoyed 'Invention of Wings'....I too found it good, if harrowing at times, read.
