So Andy and Glendale had a game today as did the U'16's. A loss of 4-0 for the 16's but played reasonably well, and the score as per normal doesn't reflect the effort put in. Glendale actually won today....4-2...hoorah...long time coming have to say. Maybe because we weren't there today! Also Scottish cup matches played today. Raith Rovers v St Johnstone....bit of a conflict though...hubby and I support Rovers and Andy StJ....unfortunately it went in StJ favour...they won 3-1 and we are oot o the cup.
  2. Just finished another good read by Linda..... 'Untying the Knot'. I have read 6 now. Review here
  3. 'Untying the Knot' by Linda Gillard This is the 6th book by Linda I have read and enjoyed. A very touching subject matter dealing with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and how Fay and Magnus coped (or didn't). They were married and had a daughter, Emily, but divorced. Magnus tries to deal with his illness by taking on the renovation of a ramshackle of an old castle Tullibardine Tower, but Fay can't cope with this and walks away. She now spends her time creating textile pictures for people, including one for her ex-mother-in-law Jessie. Emily is getting engaged to Rick, while Magnus is contemplating the same with Nina. Fay has to process this but knows they shouldn't be going ahead with the engagement. Twist and turns unfold and her ex-mother-in-law reveals a secret that her son Magnus doesn't know anything of. Fay still has feelings for Magnus as he does for her, but will can they put their past behind them. I can't tell you anymore without spoiling the storyline. Linda again writes about a mental disorder in a very sensitive manner and filled with emotion. I found this very touching and helped me understand a lot more about PTSD and how it can affect relationships. 4/5

Dilema sorted itself out....Glendale had no game due to lack of a ref, so he happily got to manage/coach the U'16's. They put up a brave fight against near top of the leaguers and only lost 2-0. Their goalie got a knee to the head though and we think he was slightly concussed and taken to the hospital to get checked, but seems to be OK as is now at home.
  8. Looking forward to reading more of Sam Hayes and Julie Crouch...thanks for visiting us.
  9. Copycat... ...did you win a copy...I did. Think 'Bees' still my favourite though.
  10. I gave my hubby this book two Christmas ago, started it but didn't get very far with it. He says there is something about the writing he doesn't like.

Good cup run for you so far then. Andy has the dilemma again tomorrow of to coach or play....his other new assistant coach has other commitments tomorrow...ho hum. Sunny weather here today, fingers crossed for footie all round.,

Footie was on this weekend...Andy was coaching and not playing....Glendale beat again...3-2...U'16's had a good game, coming from 2-0 down after 10 mins, had a better 2nd half but couldn't quite get a point...so close with a result of 4-3...a case of nearly. They had a goal disallowed which was a shame. Weather was good over the weekend too despite having had a soggy week.

He seems fine today Sedge, no squeaky bits...lol.
  17. Ya beauty....well down our GB (Scottish) girls...what a match. So proud of them all and didn't they deserve to snatch the medal. Hopefully our boys can get the top prize tomorrow...I for one will be glued to the telly at 1.30pm and a do not disturb sign... on the door. I did see the ski cross thingy to Kay...what madness, it truly is anybody can win on the day isn't it.

Great win Sedge...on to the next round with winning ways I hope. Andy had a bit of disaster last night, playing indoor footie and took a ball to the chin, which someone dislocated his left jaw, it felt weird when he got home then thought it had gone back in to place....we got it checked out at hospital but after eventually being seen after an hour suggested that he come back in the morning for an xray. We did that but he ended up not needing one as the doctor assessing it reckoned that he had put it back in to place himself somehow after it happened. Just to take it easy for 3-4 days, no contact sports etc. Ibuprofen to help swelling if any, but to be honest looks ok. He says he can clench his back teeth again, which he was worried he couldn't do last night. If he has an bother with it, like it starts to sound a bit squeaky to go back. Hopefully he won't need to.
  19. Having a good day, quite a turn around for the hockey getting a win over Russia! Another day of curling...shame the girls just couldn't quite pip those Canadians, but they are very good! But the men, well what heroes they are and Murdoch pulls out another perfect winning stone. So tomorrow will be an match at 8.30 to watch and then DO NOT DISTURB on Friday at 1.30 for the men's final game....come on the boys.
  20. Great stuff LIzzie, could never do that though... ...too scary. Fab day for our curlers....getting lucky breaks and another 12-3 for the girls..must be their luck numbers. 3 sessions today...5am women, 10am men and then 3pm again for the women....a busy day and a fruitful one I hope for them all. Will have a sore behind tomorrow...must go set the alarm for the early start...night night.
  21. Another 2 win today for the curlers...great stuff....

  22. I have a wee wishlist on here in my reading blog and more on my Goodreads page....I also have one in a notebook that I have in my handbag in case I just happen to pop in to a bookstore/charity shop and check out the shelves. This forum has made me add so many good reads to wishlists thanks to all you lovely readers on here.
  23. I can't comment on any of them....haven't read any.
  24. And another day had of watching the curling....women were unlucky not to snatch a win over Canada, but they men did well to get their win....early start for me tomorrow though...5am for the women! Oh and how on earth did too downhill skiers manage to register the same time...!

I'm glad you're enjoying the Winter Olympics. I hadn't even heard of curling until my boyfriend explained it to me, he said the British were normally pretty good at it.
