  1. I MUCH preferred Jacob - I found Edward's constant declarations of undying love for Bella (and hers in return) incredibly sickening. Jacob was far cheekier and down to earth and I preferred that. P.S. In case you're wondering what happened, Imerged the Jacob/Edward thread with the existing Twilight Saga thread.
  2. I just finished cross stitching a bookmark yesterday - I did it as a mini birth sampler for Xander but instead of using it as a bookmark, I've hung it on his nursery door! I'm just busy designing a wedding sampler one with Dale's and my names and our wedding date on it to hang on our door...
  3. Please see the guidelines regarding capital letters and text speak. I've corrected a few of your posts so that book titles and authors' names are capitalised and changed text speak such as "u", "r" and "ur" to the proper full words in accordance with the rules of the forum. Thank you.

  4. Some of his more recent ones have been broken into chapters, BJ. I actually prefer his Discworld novels not to have them as he alwyas has quite natural breaks in the text anyway. However, my Mam can't read the Discworld novels because most of them have no chapters - it really gets to her! I'd also love to be stuck in a lift with SM, simply to ask her how she managed to turn a mediocre series of vampire stories into such a hugely popular money-spinner - LOL!
  5. It's a long-haul read but SOOOOO worth it (especially if you have the uncut version). I really hope you enjoy it as much as I do (I've read it about a dozen times by now! ).
  6. Pork, pepper and pineapple kebabs with a sweet chilli glaze, and wild rice with mushrooms and onions. Yummy!

    Happy birthday!

  8. Happy birthday!

  9. I've had Jan Jan (the Armenian entry) stuck in my head all day. Fortunately, it's one that I like!

  12. Different Seasons contains some of my favourite King stories. I loved The Body (which became the film Stand By Me); and also Rita Hayworth and The Shawshank Redemption (which became the film The Shawshank Redemption). Apt Pupil and The Breathing Method (same collection) were both very good too.
  13. Ooh, enjoy The Stand! It's one of my all-time favourite books, not just of King's works but of ANY works!
  14. We had pizza for dinner tonight and Xander LOVED his! Yup, we give him a bit of whatever we're having for dinner and he GOBBLED it all up! A fair bit ended up on the floor and more of it squished onto his tray, but a surprising amount went into his mouth (he ws feeding himself) and into his little tum accompanied by little, "Mmmm-mmm!" noises!
  15. Just to update - I did eventually read the first one but was sorely disappointed and haven't bothered with the rest of the series as a result of that experience.
  16. Sounds like an interesting read - I think I might pop this one on my wishlist for a future time when I don't have quite so many books sitting unread as I do now.
  17. Thank you! I used to host a Eurovison party every year for the final and I always blog my thoughts as I go along (if you click on my Life Gets in the Way link in my sig, you can read the whole shebang). Actually, many of the other countries involved take it very serieously and use established performers as well as releasing their entry as a single in their own country. In many cases it can further their career in their own countries - it's only us cynical Brits and a few others who tend to break the careers of their entrants because we usually enter such drivel. You mean you were actually IN RUSSIA and didn't go to Eurovision??!!!! I'm quite shocked!

    You're welcome - I wouldn't miss Eurovision for the world! :)

  19. I'm here! I've just been sorting out my blog entry on Eurovision and am desperately awaiting someone to fill in the details on Wiki of all the final positions because I didn't pay attention and now can't remember where Greece, Armenia, Ukraine and Albania finished and I need the details to complete my entry!
  20. It's rather disappointing that Greece didn't do better - we really thought they'd be right up there with their fantastic entry this year; and the UK did far better than we expected, finishing in the top five. And I only won a tiny amount from one of my bets - the each-way I'd placed on Turkey.
  21. Didn't Graham Norton do well with his commentary? A worthy successor to Mr Wogan who made the evening sparkle with his witticisms. I had my reservations as I'm no fan of his, but he did a sterling job.
  22. I'm hoping for: 1. Greece 2. Armenia 3. Turkey 4. Ukraine Simply because those are the ones Dale and I put money on - we both picked Greece to win and the others to place.
  23. Spain - I love her haircut! Very strong performance with a good song. I never cast a vote - I just place bets instead (it's the only event I bet on other than The Grand National every year!).
  24. Finland - Spirited performance but didn't people learn about entering a song with rapping from the UK's entry a few years back? (Daz with Teenage Life - one of the UK's lowest Eurovision moments!). Finland should have gone with Surrender by Passionworks (which was one of the contenders) - it was a far better song and would have stood them a far better chance of winning.
  25. UK - I have to say straight off that I hate this song. Andrew Lloyd Webber should stick to musicals. I also can't stand that Jade lassie - her voice warbles all over the place. Last year we had a great entry with a fantastic performance - we've taken a huge step backwards with this dross. Insipid song and terrible performance.
