  1. I think Julian will get an album deal and then, once the hype has died down, have a very nice career as a session musician. Susan Boyle will go home and get involved in am-dram musicals (which is, as far as I'm concerned, where she firmly belongs), and Diversity will continue doing what they've always done, although I really do believe the choreographer will have a career choreographing edgy dance shows and perhaps more modern West End musicals when they catch up with what's relevant today!

    Google Today

I've just merged all the Google threads for ease of reference.
  3. I had humiliation-laden bolognese.
  4. Yay Diversity!!!!!!
  5. Diversity were absolutely awesome tonight - gthe best act out there. However, I have to admit, I really want Stavros Flatley to win it - it's a proper, full-on variety act and they had me and Dale in stitches! Of the singers, the little lad was the best by far - he has an immense talent and I think we'll see him in the future... And what is it with Susan Boyle - can't she even crack a smile???!!!
  6. Ooh, I've also just started being a male police inspector investigating the horrific serial-mutilation of Polish immigrants in Aberdeen. Yes, you've guessed it, I'm reading the latest Logan McRae crime thriller by Stuart Macbride.
  7. Crikey, it's been almost a year since you were here, mate! I knew it was a long time, but I didn't realise quite HOW long! Hope you're well and happy, whatever you're doing. :)

  8. Well, we've been promised we're getting a nice, sunny summer this year, so light summer dresses/tops and skirts/trousers would be in order, but knowing the British weather can turn at the drop of a hat, bring a lightweight cardigan and/or lightweight jacket too - just in case! And pack a small, folding brolly. It'll last all of five minutes if it gets windy, but at least it'll give you a chance to get to a place that sells larger lrollies that won't buckle in a breeze - LOL!
  9. Happy birthday!

    Happy birthday!

  11. Personally, I would love it if Diversity and Flawless got together for a dance-off and did that as their act - they would win for sure! I agree that this year's line-up lacks variety though - it's all singing and dancing apart fro one musician (even the comedy act is a dance one).
  12. I completely agree. And if she wants a career in show business she'll have to learn pretty quickly that there are no do-overs in auditions - you get one chance to show what you can do and are judged harshly on it. Tears and begging don't get you through. Actually, I thought the choices tonight were pretty poor anyway. The dancing laddie definitely deserved to go through, but the only other act that really did it for me was the girlie dance troup (with token boy) who, although nowhere near as good as Flawless or Diverstiy, have, as Blondie said, a different angle and their act is something you would expect to see in Vegas before the big-star magicians come on. THey were good and tight and glamourous. As for the other acts: Good Evans - terrible. The boy and mother both have good voices, but the song choice was terrible, the dad is average and the little girls CANNOT SING! They're sole purpose is the cute factor. Rubbish act. Juggler - it's a shame he didn't get a chance to do his whole act as I was wondering where he would take it. Yes, up till that point, he hadn't done anything really different, but he might have done after that... Falsetto Opera Guy - Oh my gods he is AWFUL! He massacred that song and deserved to be shot! The Three Only Gays in the Village - utter tosh, but entertaining tosh. Guitarist - average player, terrible singer, poor choice of song. He threw it away, really.
  13. I've read that one! It wasn't really as good as I'd hoped, but I think it was partially the mood I was in at the time! I'm currently a Greek woman in love with an Italian soldier occupying Cephalonia during WWII (Pelagia from Captain Corelli's Mandolin by Louis De Bernieres).
  14. Yes, definitely best easten whilst still hot!

  16. Why not, Chrissy? Afraid you might have to make it every day?
  17. DEFINITELY a classic!
  18. Oh, the media DEFINITELY skews views of things. It's like on Big Brother where you only see what the editor lets you see.

  20. I use barely rounded spoons and when I'm measuring the milk and oil, I let it dribble over just a touch, so it's not too dry and not too gloopy either.
  21. Me too - I wish they would just shut up about her. She's not THAT good (decent, but not brilliant!) and she's actualy the least talented of the singing finalists by a very long shot. It'll be an absolute travesty if she wins it.
  22. Dale likes me to use Aero Mint choclate in his instead of cocoa and leave out the vanilla. It makes for an interesting bubbly effect on the top of the cake too - LOL!

Mr McCallum was rather scrummy in his youth, but I also think he's rather a distinguished-looking older gent - he's still got that twinkle in his eye!
  24. I thought that after the first series when Rex died - it would have been great to have him narrate an episode focusing on the guys of Wisteria Lane.
  25. I was hoping the all-girl dance act would be the other act to go through, but to no avail. The other two acts up for judges decision were nowhere near as good, but of the two, the little lad was more "variety" than the old geezer and young lass that went through. Disappointed with the 2nd act going through, but glad the saxophonist won through to the final.
