Inver
Shame Sedge you just didn't quite get there. Must have been a great day though. Offside.....how many times do we hear that...seems ref's have their own rules about that these days.... Ah well at least you made a cup final. Andy playing tonight against the 3rd place team at the moment. Hilton beat them 4-2 last time, so could go either way I guess. Nice night for it though, sunny and quite warm, could change by 6.45 though U13's have their last game tomorrow, same team they played on Sunday, so will see if they can finish on a win. Kintore are sitting 3rd on 24pts and Culter Colts are 4th on 19, be good to get those 3 and finish on 22pt. They can't finish any higher than 4th but great stuff to pull themselves up from the bottom 3. Still haven't any more about the appeal yet, so potentially they could get another 3 pts and maybe finish 3rd. Leaving it a bit late now though to sort it out. Sedge
Fingers crossed for the U13s Inver, sounds like they've really done themselves proud! Austell were at home to Saltash, one of Cornwall's top teams this evening and bounced back to destroy them 4-2! If we can keep this team together, we could be pushing for the title next season. All of a sudden I feel much better!
Inver
Great stuff again for St A Sedge...you are doing well just now. Andy and Glendale had a huge win on Wednesday 8-1 , although the other team were short of a few of their top players, it being a mid week game, but hey a win is a win. My boy took a great pen and is still top scorer at the moment by 2 goals. U13's had their last game of season last night, but unfortunately lost it 2-0, but played great. Same team as last Sunday. No disgrace though and coaches were well pleased. Pitch was awful though, so dry ball bouncing everywhere.
Sedge
Glad the U13s played well despite not winning. Fantastic stuff from Andy though! We're at home for our last 3 games - this afternoon, Monday and Wednesday. This'll be a real test of the lads' fitness! If all goes well we'll hopefully end the season in 6th place! Inver
Thanks Sedge. Yes it seems a bit like survival of the fittest at the moment. Andy and the boys drew 1-1 this afternoon. Beautiful day but again a very dry pitch. Bit of a rough game, they had a player sent of apparently before we got there. The ref said he took someone down in the box, our goalie was trying to defend him by mouthing of but he himself got a yellow. However they got one back. The had two players injured and taken off and Andy was feeling his hamstring again, so all 3 subs used. The joys. However they only lost 2pts and not 3. Doesn't make much difference to the league positioin though.
Sedge
We experienced the joys of playing 4 games in a week yesterday. Our tired team finally hit the wall and went down 7-1 for our biggest defeat of the season. On a brighter note, other results meant we're guaranteed a top 10 finish (we haven't given up on 6th yet) and I won a box of All Gold in the raffle! Sedge
St Austell finished their season tonight with a 3-2 home defeat against our local rivals, St Blazey. After recent disappointing results, this was the real blood and thunder local derby that we needed. Lots of crunching tackles and the passion that we've been lacking. We lost, but I'm pleased we went out with a bang rather than a whimper. We've secured a top 10 finish and could still finish above Blazey if they lose on Saturday. Top 10 in our first Premier Division season and a Cup Final - I'd say that was a darn good season!
Inver
Great stuff Sedge. Well done on your top10 finish. Andy and Glendale had a 3-3 draw on Wednesday, taking a point of a team who have been unbeaten at home. They came back from 3-0 down at HT. They are hoping that this may secure them being dropped back down from the league if they secure a win in their final game to come. Off to watch them in their semi-final clash today against Stoneywood...fingers crossed.
Sedge
Every point counts. Our season has now finished, so I'll send my good vibes up to you! We've now been confirmed in a 10th place finish. Along with a Cup Final appearance, I think we can call this season a success!
Lilywhite
Glad to hear that at least one of the Lilywhites has had a successful season Sedge! (At least I can sneakily switch allegiance without being noticed ) Sounds like nail biting stuff for Andy and his team so I wish them all luck. As much as my heart complains at the strain, I do love it when every match means something. When every goal counts. Great football if you ask me. And so, for the first time, for as long as I have supported PNE, I see them relegated to League 1. It's been a long time coming and I fear that we will not be back in the Championship for a while. I would love to come straight back up next season but I honestly don't think it will happen. Football in the lower leagues is always much grittier and far more entertaining anyway
madcow
We will bounce back, maybe not straight away, I hope this will be the kick up the backside they need to perform better. Heard about the plane flying over Deepdale and it gave me a laugh.
Inver
Great season for your boys Sedge. Unfortunately it was not to be for Andy and Glendale, they went out 3-2, with no thanks to the stupid numptie of a ref that denied them a penalty that would probably have given them a 3-2 advantage before the whistle, but it went the other way in the end. Disappointing for them. One game left of Saturday, must scrape the 3pts to avoid the bottom 3, 5th bottom at the moment but those below have games in hand, with close points and goal differences possible deciders if it gets down to the nitty gritty! Sedge
Fingers crossed for the last game Inver. Games in hand are all very well, but points in the bag are more important. Sticking my neck out - I think Glendale will do it!
Inver
Aw...thanks Sedge. One bit of good news though. Andy had to attend a hearing about the appeal he put forward and they won it and will be awarded the game after Kintore United fielded that inelligible player. So now be finishing on 22 instead of 19 and 4th. Was chuffed when he got the letter through.

Inver
Andy is at a fundraising Sportsman Dinner tonight for Culter. They have some great silent auction bids going. I have just told him to put me down for the framed signed Denis Law Scotland top! Watch this space! Fantastic total of £20,000 raised tonight. The strip went for £370....needless to say I didn't get it..lol. They had a signed Giggs shirt too....£1300! They were fundraising for the new club pitch/facilities that have been slow in getting built due to continuous fundraising etc. Edited May 14, 2011 by Inver
Inver
Andy and Glendale finished the season winning their last game 3-1. Few knocks and tumbles and subs due to injury, but another 3pts in the bag. Hopefully enough to finish out of the relegation. Just have to wait and see what the others can come up with in the remaining matches still to play. Sedge
Sounds like an important win. And the teams below them aren't guaranteed to win their games in hand, otherwise they wouldn't be near the bottom. I've got a good feeling about this!
Inver
I love the faith you have in us Sedge...
Sedge
It comes from years of supporting the Mighty Austell throughout the nineties - they were bleak times, but look where we are now!
Inver
Yes they did Laura thanks.....out of the relegation zone....5th bottom...could have been better placed I guess, but there is always next season. On another note.....just watched Barcelona v Man U. Barca play amazing footie, it wouldn't have mattered who they played tonight they would have won. Sedge
Well done to your lads Inver - onwards & upwards! Looking back over my posts I see that I forgot to mention that our 2nds won their league cup as well as the Division 2 title just to keep our trophy cabinet topped up! Also commiserations to Torquay United for losing their play-off final yesterday - I'm sure they'll make it next season! Roland Butter
Also commiserations to Torquay United for losing their play-off final yesterday - I'm sure they'll make it next season! They're in Devon - you must be getting soft!
Inver
Ho hum....another game Scotland couldn't just win Well done RoI winning the Carling cup in their home stadium though.
Sedge
They're in Devon - you must be getting soft! I was cheering them on for promotion so that the evil Plymouth Argyle would be the 3rd team in Devon. The Pilgrims aren't too popular down this way! I'm waiting for the day when a Cornish team can beat them in the league - it could be as soon as 2012 if things go well for Truro City!
