Victoria, glad you find the list handy. :) I have a good Excel format that I think is more thorough than the list here. Let me know if you're interested and I can email it to you.

Ben, somehow I missed your post. I just finished the 7th season again, and yes, it's very sad having to say goodbye yet again. :( I think it's strange to watch Rory growing up too. Sometimes it seems like she changed so quickly, but at other times it seems very imperceptible, which I think is brilliant on the part of the writers.

I tried to pick up a new GG habit today. I noticed that the new caterers at my work sell half-size grapefruits every day. I keep remembering the episode where Richard visits Lorelai in Stars Hollow and nags her at Luke's to eat half a grapefruit until she gives in and asks Luke to buy her one. I believe the health benefits of eating grapefruit at breakfast are also brought up in another episode. So I bought half a grapefruit this morning and, well, let's just say I won't be doing it again. Blech! :giggle:

One of my favourite scenes in the entire thing has just been shown; Emily arriving at the diner to berate Luke, and Luke using his newly inputted speed dial to call Loralei.

It shows the controlling aspects of Emily in sharp sharp detail, and Loralei's resistance to it all. Luke does good by keeping a low profile in the scene while not letting Emily take any credit for their

return to each other

I was watching Back to the Future tonight and thought the town looked suspiciously like Stars Hollow, so I Googled it and I was right! I even found a satellite image of the lot, and you can move around to see the surrounding area (be warned though, it does spoil the illusion somewhat, and it looks rather ugly from above!)

Mermaids was also shot there, and the shoe shop that features in that movie was also Luke's Diner. :)

I've started watching the entire series again, and I'm midway through season 2 already. :)

Hey Ben, did you get around to finishing the rest of the series yet?

I recently watched the episode (I think the last episode of season 4) which has my favourite ever GG scene, in which Rory and Lorelai are at Luke's and Lorelai is trying to get Rory's opinion on whether Luke is 'different' (she's trying to work out if they're dating).

Unfortunately not - all my university happenings simply haven't given me the time, I also didn't own series seven on dvd, and don't often like watching thiings like this on the internet. I did, however, happily receive it for Christmas and as soon as the exams are over - on the 17th - I plan to power through the rest. I must say, I'm actually quite excited to do so.

It has been too long since this thread was last updated! Here are a couple of favourite exchanges from recent episodes I've watched:

(Sookie is feeling uninspired in her cooking and is down in the dumps):

Lorelai: Sookie?

Sookie: Don't you mean 'Sucky?' [the line is delivered brilliantly!]

(Liz has told Luke that TJ left her when he found out she was pregnant):

LIZ: He's left.

LUKE: How can you be so calm about this? You're so calm about this.

LIZ: Because I got my new come-what-may philosophy.

LUKE: Your what?

LIZ: My philosophy. It's about accepting what comes your way, whatever it is. If a bus is heading right at you, let it come. If a piece of space junk comes hurtling down at you, let it come.

LUKE: Or you step out of the way.

LIZ: You know, that's probably better, and when I said what I said now, it felt wrong.

:D

 Brilliant, Kylie.

Been watching these again from the beginning with one of my house-mates and it's funny because we keep being antisocial because they're so addictive. Still never watched series seven but if we keep working through them at this rate I'm sure I'll get to it soon. Such a great series. :D

You and your friend remind me of the Spring Break episode, Ben, when Paris and Rory go to the beach to socialise but then don't want to and shut themselves in their room to watch 'The Power of Myth'. :giggle2: I'm about to start watching the 7th season again. :)

I was finally able to watch the last couple of seasons after it's most re-airing where I live. Never seemed able to manage the first time it aired. I have to say that I was disappointed with the final episode. It seemed to leave some store lines hanging. That or ended in a way I didn't like. :P

I've just seen that ...

Actress Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls and Parenthood) has written her debut novel, Someday, Someday, Maybe, about a struggling young actress trying to get ahead - and keep it together - in New York City.

There is a long synopsis on the website where I found it, but I haven't posted it here as it is quite long and I'm concerned it might be a bit spoilery, but if you want to have a look, it's here: http://www.chicklitc...medaymaybe.html

Oh boy! Do you think you'll want to read it? Oh boy. I like her and her work but ... I wonder if the book's any good.

Edit: I'm not saying I'm worried about Graham's writing, but rather I'm not sure if the subject is something I'm interested in as I'm more into books and authors vs movies/TV-series and actors.

I've started re-watching GG from season 4 because I finally got season 5 and I want to see some of the certain good stuff before moving onto the amazingness in season 5.

And this is weird, but I'm so looking forward to seeing Digger Styles (sp?)  again  What's wrong with me!!!

Edit: I mean he's no competition when it comes to you know who, but still...

I used to watch Gilmore Girls every so often. Mainly 'cause when my sister lived at home she would watch it. I loved how good they were at acting. It was like you were watching a normal person live out their lives. It didn't feel like acting.

Remember Brennan, the frog boy from the episode called Ted Koppel's Big Night Out? The sole reason why everyone in town started to avoid going into Luke's? Remember when he was all alone in the diner and people lining up for Al's Pancake world watched him sing along to some song?

Well, I'm currently listening to some songs by Limp Bizkit and they have a song called Nookie and Fred Durst sings 'Stick it up your yeah' (?) at some point and therefore I'm pretty certain that's the song Brennan is singing at the diner.

I've always wondered, and now I have an answer

Sam Philips (the woman who wrote the score for Gilmore Girls—all the 'la las') has written an article about her time on GG. I didn't realise she actually appeared in the show as well. I've been watching all the seasons again and am most of the way through season 6, so I should be coming up to the episode where she appears soon (I think it's the one where all the troubadours come to town).

A friend of mine borrowed the first two seasons of GG from me maybe 5 months ago, and I've been aching for her to start watching them, but it's been a slow going process... This week she e-mailed me that she'd now watched the first three episodes, and apparently there's potential there. I don't quite know what that means... If it's a good thing (at least she hasn't given it up after the first ep, hating the whole thing!), or a bad thing (she didn't fall in love by the second episode!).:D

That sounds like a good thing. Having watched all of the seasons so many times, I now think that the first couple of episodes are a little weak - only because they're obviously getting settled in and haven't fully come into their characters yet, if you know what I mean. I think your friend will enjoy it more and more as it goes on. :)

Yeah, I think the pilot is pretty weak, but I don't think the second episode is all that bad.. But she's a newbie, so she won't know! :D

Edit: She's been with her now husband for 12 years, so I've never known her as a single, and we haven't thus talked about men and their looks all that much... So I have no idea really what her tastes are. I wonder who she'll start rooting for.
