True Evil ~ Greg Iles

Brief Synopsis:

FBI agent Alexander Morse is a specialist Hostage Negotiator, until tragedy in her personal life changes that. Her father is shot and killed and her mother is dying from cancer. During a hostage situation Alexander makes a fatal error, as a result she is injured and left badly scarred, but worse than that a colleague is shot dead.

Not long after this her sister suffers a stroke and tells Alexander that her own husband was responsible, she makes Alexander promise to take her son Jamie away from his father. Alexander promises she will, despite having her doubts about the story.....

Can Alexander prove her sisters story?

Could a divorce lawyer be involved - he has wealthy clients whose spouses are dying of, apparently, natural causes.

Can Alexander prove her suspicions to the next potential victim, Dr. Chris Shepherd, she needs his help but can she convince him?

This was the third Greg Iles book I`ve read, and it was just as good as the last two.

It was fast paced and the characters were good. On the whole a very good thriller, my only criticism would be that perhaps it didn`t need to be over 600 pages long, I`m not sure.

Certainly worth reading if you like this genre of book. I`ll definately be reading more of Greg Iles.

Therapy ~ Sebastian Fitzek

Brief Synopsis:

For several months 12year old Josy has been suffering a mystery illness, doctors can`t find any reason for her sickness.

Then one day Josy mysteriously vanishes without a trace.

Her father Viktor Larenz, a well known psychiatrist, finds it impossible to come to terms with her disappearance and is sure she must be dead, but there`s no body and no closure for him. Viktors marriage suffers as a consequence and four years later he takes himself to an island retreat in an attempt to heal. While on the island an author comes to see him and asks him to help her, she`s a schizophrenic and says characters she`s written about come to life.

The story she tells reminds him of Josy........could there be a connection?

I thought Therapy was a brilliant psychological thriller, from the word go I was absorbed in the story and found it hard to put down. The description of the island and the depth of the characters was superb.

The story was fast paced with lots of twists and turns.

I will certainly be looking out for more books by Sebastian Fitzek and highly recommend Therapy.

Went to the library yesterday and amongst other things picked up Julie Walters autobiography, That`s Another Story.

So I`ve made a start on it.

Ooo, you'll have to tell me what it's like! I've been thinking about getting it for a while but wasn't sure whether I wanted to pay so much for it whilst it's still in hardback :D

I will let you know Lexie, I wouldn`t have bought it myself, that`s why I reserved it at the library, but I`m so lucky cause I`m the first person to borrow it, so it`s a lovely brand new book.

My mum read the Julie Walters autobiography and she seemed to really enjoy it. She read it so fast too. She did say she preferred Paul O'Grady's one though.

I might have to get the Paul O`Grady one.

Yeah that's another I want to read, and also Dear Fatty by Dawn French

I`ve got Dawn French waiting!

I wasn't so keen on the Julie Walter's one, but I loved Dawn French's. :D

I`ve got a feeling I`ll be the same, I was going to start Dawn French but then Julie Walters arrived, and as it`s a library book I thought I should read it first. :D

I'm not overly keen on autogiography's but if I had to read one, I think I'd be interested in Paul O'Grady's. I also want to read that man's from Back to the future. It's so bad, I've forgotten his name!

I don`t normally read autobiographies either, but at the moment there are a few out that I fancy, and it does make a change from crime. :D

I can`t remember that name either! :)
