Hello, I'm a newbie

Hi Guys

I guess you know that I am a newbie as I'm in this section. I'm Vicki, 28 year old working mum to a preschooler.

I'm a bit of a bookworm. I get through roughly 5-7 books a month and need a place to discuss the books I've read. I've been looking for a nice book forum to call home, as hubby is not a bit reader & hope this may be the place. :D I have about 200 TBR in my pile waiting to be picked up & yet I still go the library every week & pick out one or two!!! So many books & yet so little time.

I hope you want to welcome me into your crowd.

:)

Okay a proper welcome to you here, not just on your profile.

:17:to the forum Bookwormmum! What kind of books do you like to read? Your profile didn't say much about your preferences. Hmmm, think I will toodle off now and see if you have a reading log yet! Hope you enjoy it here! :)

Oh dear, what kind of books???

I tend to pick fiction over non. It's very rare that I read crime/horror novels. I guess I enjoy tales that focus on relationships, be it romantic, historical, family etc.

My favourite reads so far this year have been:

The Lost art of Keeping Secrets - Eva Rice

The Kite Runner - Khaled Hosseini

How I Live Now - Meg Rosoff

Girl with the Pearl Earing - Tracy Chevalier

Cage of Stars - Jacquelyn Mitchard

The Book of Lost Things - John Connolly

Q & A - Vikas Swarup

The Birds & the Bees - Milly Johnson

I Capture the Castle - Dodie Smith

Things I want my Daughters to Know - Elizabeth Noble

Divas Don't Knit - Gil McNeil

Friends Like These - Danny Wallace

The Knitting Circle - Ann Hood

:blush:You will soon settle in. Lots of things to find out about. We have bookrings on here too if you would like to join them, in the buying, selling, swapping section. They are good fun.
