babypinkcandygirl
in bed, in the bath, standing up in the kitchen, snuggled up on my sofa, on the bus, online, in the garden, in the park, on the beach, in waiting rooms...gimme a book and wherever i am is my new favourite place (although i must admit if i have to choose just one place then it has to be my lovely, snuggly, soft, pink bed )
Icecream
I'll vote for standing in the kitchen. Just watch that food doesn't burn (homemade potato cakes in my case this supper time).

Yes some days it can be the only place you get a chance - a few pages while the potatoes boil or the bolognese simmers.
jenmck
My favorite place is my bed. But I read everywhere. Everywhere. There was a time I had to sneak it when I went potty. Hazards of small children.
angerball
I prefer to read in the bedroom alone. Sometime I can read in the lounge, on the sofa, but if hubby is there I always tend to get distracted.
Kylie
Probably on my bed. I love reading on the lounge but my family is usually around and the TV is on. I prefer quiet if possible. I look forward to getting a place of my own because I want to get one of those really comfy lounges that you sink into (and probably can't get out of again! )
angerball
Probably on my bed. I love reading on the lounge but my family is usually around and the TV is on. I prefer quiet if possible. That's exactly why I prefer reading in the bedroom. Noise or other people around distract me, even if they are carrying on with their own thing. I also find lighting is a big factor. I can't read in anything short of bright light - otherwise I get really uncomfy and restless.
Ratna
Mine would probably be on my rocking chair..though when I still lived in Bali, I used to love reading on the beach..

Weave
I like reading in bed, but I can read anywhere x
Susanne
My favourite place has to be in the bath. On Sunday evenings I indulge myself with a hot bubble bath with candles (in winter, not the same in summer) and a bottle of white and of course a book. Everybody at home knows that this is 'me' time and dad is in charge. Needless to say I take full advantage and have been known to stay in there for a long long time. Bed has to be the second favourite place, usually because by that time the kids are tucked in and there is some peace. To my shame I have been known to tell hubby not to bother coming up to bed for at least an hour as I am reading . Another favourite place used to be my old recliner chair - it was sooooo comfy but eventually I had to part with it because the whole suite got too tacky. Still regret not getting another suite with recliner. Apart from that everywhere is a good place to read
Liz
I like to stretch out and read, either on my bed, settee, or in the garden. Also, sinking into a big comfy chair is a nice place to read.
jazz
In bed or on the lounge where there are some huge soft pillows I can sink against, with my favourite cup of caramel/vanilla tea-now that's bliss
pipsqueak
Definately in bed, snuggled up with a hot chocolate. (I do love reading outside on a blanket though.)
Maureen
. (its the only way I can get away from the question "Is it good?":irked:) Yes people do ask that question! It seems as if it has to be asked!
muggle not
I enjoy reading on our screened in porch. It is nice in the fresh air and a little breeze blowing.
writeoff
I can't read in bed. I either fall asleep (if the book's rubbish) or can't sleep (if the book's good).I love to read in the garden but, english weather being what it is, usually settle for the bath or my favourite armchair. Guest ii
I rarely read in bed, as I usually do stuff up until I'm too tired to keep my eyes open anymore before going to bed. Sometimes, though, if I feel my mind is racing around too much, I like to relax it by doing a Sudoku in bed. BF keeps telling me that's the weirdest thing ever, that no normal person does Sudoku to help them sleep, but it works for me.
olive
For me it's on the train to and from work each day - as I have an hours commute each direction. It's the only chance I get to really get stuck in to a book and have my 'personal space'.
Kirstykat
I love to read sitting on the settee with a mug of good quality hot chocolate, the lamp on, so that I can have good light and the warmth from it, and my tabby cuddled up to me or on my lap. Pure Bliss...!!!!!!!!
Liz
Kirstykat, that sounds the perfect way to read a book.
Adam
I usually read before bed or up in the tv room with some background noise
Princess Orchid
I always read in bed - unfortunately, this sometimes (often) results in not enough sleep! There are also a few other places I always take a book: - on bus/train/plane journeys, not matter how short. I feel the same way about my iPod and my iPod-to-radio adapter for car journeys, even of only 5010 mins! - whilst eating. Seriously terrible habit, but if I'm having a quick lunch by myself (obviously wouldn't do this if I had company), I'll always have a book.
