  1. There is a website that is about mistakes in books. You can search for specific books or just browse through them (right-side of the page). http://www.bookmistakes.com/search.php ============= Talking about mistakes, I'm pretty sure a character's name changes at some point in Stephen King's Carrie. I cannot remember which character, though - I'll have to look through the book again.
  2. My sister has been reading this book and she really likes it, which must be a good sign as she doesn't usually enjoy this style of book.

    Hi

    Welcome, Emma!
  4. I printed off a copy of the list a few years ago and have been trying to read through the list. I've read 57 of them so far.

The Remains of the Day ~ This really was a beautifully written book, the style being so elegant and graceful. I did enjoy this book, the nostalgia running throughout it being marvellously described as well as bringing quite a sad tone to the book. Next....... The Virgin Suicides Jeffrey Eugenides
  7. Are these seven books the complete series, or will he be writing anymore?
  8. I don't think I could read and walk like that. I would end up falling about all over the place.

Archangel - I have to admit that I was a little unsure if this book when reading the first 50 - 100 pages. It hadn't really grabbed me that much, but then I seemed to hit a good patch and I was away ( I read the second half of the book in one sitting last night). I really enjoyed this one - the pace was good and the story kept me interested after that slightly rough patch at the beginning. I will definitely read more from Harris. Next....... The Remains of the Day Kazuo Ishiguro

    Hello

Hello, Raine! Welcome to the forum.
  11. Welcome to the forum! I'm sure you'll enjoy being here. Do you have any favourite authors or genres?
  12. Yes, I think borrowing it is best. I don't fancy forking out £9 to find out it's not my cup of tea. Thanks, Rennie.
  13. Talking about The Book of Dave, I was haing a look at it this morning in the bookshop. I wasn't too sure about it so I left it, but from reading your review, I may borrow it from the library someday.

I've decided that I will have a go at Archangel by Robert Harris (which was a present from my very kind local second-hand bookseller ). This will be my second book by Harris as I read The Ghost last year, which I quite enjoyed.

The Jewel That Was Ours ~ Another brilliant Morse mystery. I am really enjoying reading this series - I only have a few more Morse books to go. Christian Heroes: Eric Liddell ~ This is from a series which is written to allow younger readers to understand and enjoy. I first read this when I was 11, and I still enjoy reading about Liddell and his life serving God and putting his trust in Him.
