We went away for a few days to a notoriously high rainfall area hoping for a good storm ... it was fine the whole time we were there. Meanwhile at home we had the heaviest rain for months 😏😂 It's usually the opposite with me, I go somewhere where it hasn't rained for months.... and yep it starts to pour the day after I get there! 1 Quote

Madeleine Posted September 11, 2024 Posted September 11, 2024 And more today! At one point it was sunny in the middle, and either side was threatening dark skies! Had some thunder too but thankfully not like the other night. Quote

But at least you got to relax and change the scenery while it was pouring back home. Talk about irony, right? 😄 1 Quote
Madeleine Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 Now it's nice and sunny again, but cold when it clouds over and a chilly wind too, a total mixture but some nice blue skies so can't really complain. Quote

Madeleine Posted January 4 Posted January 4 Thank you, not much of a frost this morning, but we might get some snow overnight. Quote
lunababymoonchild Posted January 24 Posted January 24 I hope everyone is keeping safe in the storm. We’ve just lost Sky+ so not too bad. I wonder how long it will be before the internet goes. I’ll just have to read a book! Quote
Madeleine Posted January 24 Posted January 24 My Sky always drops out during thunderstorms. Not too bad today, a bit windy, and I went up to London today and some of the overhead train lines were affected, my own wasn't running for a while due to a fallen tree. Hope everyone is OK! Quote
poppy Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Sounds like Storm Eowyn was really bad in Ireland and UK. Hope you've all stayed safe and dry 😘 Quote
Brian. Posted January 25 Posted January 25 I think Scotland and Ireland got the worst of it by what I've seen on the news. Quote
lunababymoonchild Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Yes, we in Scotland did. Personally, our Sky TV went off, as expected, and hasn't returned so I'll have to get an engineer out but compared to others we got off lightly Quote
Madeleine Posted January 25 Posted January 25 We had a bit of rain and it did get quite windy, I went up to London yesterday and got delayed a bit coming back due to a tree fall further down the line, but not too bad overall. Today was glorious, bright blue sky and sun, we went to a museum in London and had lunch outside! It was quite sheltered. The sunset tonight was amazing too, though it's meant to rain heavily tomorrow. Quote
lunababymoonchild Posted August 14 Posted August 14 It’s been extremely hot here today and we missed the forecast thunder and showers/torrential rain (boo!). I sincerely hope that everybody is staying safe in the heat - looking specifically at those with newborns @Hayley - and that it cools down (and rains, I just love rain!) soon 1 Quote
Madeleine Posted August 15 Posted August 15 We had quite a bit of rain (not forecast!) on Wednesday afternoon with a bit of thunder in the distance, since then it's been pretty hot and really clammy at night, which is worse. Meant to get a bit cooler but still not much rain, if any, on the way. 1 Quote

I'm very happy about it - it is stressful with a newborn when it's hot 😅. Someone gave me a room temperature monitor and it's been displaying a sad face for about a week! 1 Quote
lunababymoonchild Posted August 20 Posted August 20 We are cooler too today, I’m glad to say but not by much. It’s not stifling today. We have no sign of rain so I’ll have to go outside and water my pots at some point (good exercise for me, humphing a heavy watering can around and running in and out to fill it so not all bad). Quote
Madeleine Posted August 20 Posted August 20 Much cooler here today as well, in fact I changed out of my T shirt and put on a long sleeved tee instead, as well as socks! It did get warmer around 2.30 and I sat in the garden for a while, but it was so windy I gave up trying to read my magazine after a while. I did do some watering and feeding tomatoes, sunflowers, etc. I know what you mean about lugging the watering can backwards and forwards, they say weight bearing exercise is good for you though! 1 Quote
lunababymoonchild Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago I’m loving the heavy rain we are experiencing just now and the sun shining through it so that I can see how heavy it is. 1 Quote
Madeleine Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago It's been bizarre weather, sunshine one side and torrential rain the other, Wednesday was particularly bad and it looks like tomorrow will be too, my walking group has a stand at the local community festival (outside of course!) and I'm hoping we don't get blown away as the forecast is even worse than it's been the last few days.
