Madeleine Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 Strange mix of sunshine and rain today, managed to get our guest dog out over the local nature reserve when it was nice and sunny, although the duck pond was frozen (with loads of seagulls standing on it), then when we came out of Tesco's this afternoon everyone was sheltering from what must have been a massive downpour, the car park was soaking, and another downpour around 5.00. Inver Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 We just had a bit of snow tonight, but now turned to rain...supposed to be sunny tomorrow...watch this space Quote
Madeleine Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 Rained all morning but a bit brighter now. Quote
Madeleine Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 Managed to get a window of about 2 hours of dry weather, and took the dog out, but started raining again around 2.30 and hasn't stopped. Quote
pontalba Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Crazy! Have switched from a/c to heat and back a couple of times. We had three nights in a row of well below freezing temps, then rain, rain, rain. It's been nice the last few days, just waiting for the other shoe to drop. Fortunately we are not near any of the rivers around here, they are all getting above flood stage. Quote
Madeleine Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Rained most of the rest of yesterday and last night, dry and dull so far today. Quote
chesilbeach Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Not so cold, but a bit wet most of the day. Quote
Athena Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 It's finally a bit warmer now here, with temperatures a bit above 5 °C as maximum (instead of -1 °C being the maximum). It's grey and overcast, and on occasion we have a bit of rain. But I'm happy it's no longer freezing. Quote
Madeleine Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 Still quite cold here (though a bit warmer than where you are Athena!) and damp and drizzly, meant to get to around 10 or 11 later in the week. Windy too. Quote
chesilbeach Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Another grey day today, a bit damp this morning, but basically, just a bit meh. Quote
Nollaig Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 Grey here but a bit brighter than the last few days. Blustery, rainy at times but not constant. Quote
Madeleine Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 Managed to stay dry long enough to get our guest dog out for a walk, but it's pouring now. Not so cold though. Quote
shades Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 Sunny and cold here, Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow this morning so we have 6 more weeks of winter ahead, Can't wait until spring Quote
Virginia Posted February 2, 2017 Author Posted February 2, 2017 Today promises to be warm and sunny, highs in the mid 70's. That means short sleeves around these parts. Its perfect for me as I'm going to take Kizzy on a brisk 2 mile walk through my neighborhood. Actually, I'll do a mile with her and then drop her off at home and then continue on at a faster pace. I love my walks as I can listen to my podcasts uninterrupted and take in all the lovely and confused trees along the roads. I say confused because it appears that because of the spring like temps, several types of trees are attempting early blooming. Quote
chesilbeach Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 It's very windy here today, and the forecast for the next few days is heavy rain and heavy wind, so it's going to be a "batten down the hatches" sort of weekend, I think. Quote
Madeleine Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 Still dry after raining most of the afternoon, but getting windier. A really dull miserable day. Quote
Sazed Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 It was beautiful and sunny this morning, now it's looking grey and windy :/ Quote
Virginia Posted February 3, 2017 Author Posted February 3, 2017 Gray and cold. It's almost like yesterday never happened. Quote
shades Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 (edited) Cold, cold, and colder in the forecast. highs around 35F for the next three days, but no snow I don't think so anyway. Gotta love Winter Edited February 3, 2017 by shades Quote
