  1. Grrr, can't quote a long post with kindle, too awkward. Still loving my alarm clock ! The last Cat Who book which I read was #24, The cat who went up a creek ; I have one of the later ones, but I think they went downhill too much to keep buying all of them. Kate, did you at all like the last few ? I wondered if it would change my memories of the loveliness of the characters she created to keep reading them ? Xiao-Xiao' s fully recovered, thanks for asking. I asked a neighbour who has a relative in the Police here, and she hadn't heard of any other cat incidents nearby. Just no idea what happened.
  2. They're family members ! I think pets do deserve decent food. Xiao-Xiao had raw beef again this week and ran about afterwards, shouting and pouncing. I think that means she enjoyed it.
  3. Oh ! Sorry that your hubby and computer have been poorly. :hugs:

  9. I'm on a Book Roll. I did a Ngaio Marsh reread and loved the books all over again. I highly recommend them ; the main characters are ones I fell in love with. Do give them a go if you're into Golden Age mysteries.

  12. Great pics ! Fantastic one of the stairwell.
  13. How strange - and awful. Hope you`re all better soon.
  14. I think the original Montalbano is my favourite, followed by The Killing and Borgen.
  15. I`ve found the recent Beck eps to be better than the older ones.
  16. Doing an X Files rewatch, almost up to S7 now. Watching Murdoch Mysteries for the first time, on S5 now. So funny. On the final ep of Grey`s Anatomy, S11 - excellent. 4 eps into Angelby, a Swedish mystery which reminds me a lot of Jordsknott.
  17. Thanks ! I hope you`re all better soon too. I`m 41% into the book and really enjoying it. I hope they make radio plays out of those books.
  18. Oh, you've been reading it too ! Snap ! How nice.
  19. Thank you ! Well, the computer now has a new version of my web browser which seems to work with Windows 10' and I'm getting over some bug myself too, so almost back to normal. I'm currently reading book 135 - the death in paradise book called the death of Polly Carter, oslt. Really enjoying it so far. Hope you've been well ?
  20. Get, pc stopped working altogether. Hopefully, back soon !
  21. That`s what`s putting me off giving them a go - childrens` books seem more expensive for fewer pages.
  22. Those new books look lovely; I especially like the look of the Agatha Christie ones.
  23. Exactly - it`s that we all love reading that`s important, not how much or what type of book. I think the mystery books I`ve read lately are around 200-230 pages ; I can`t recall ones which are much longer. I like Urban fantasy too, but even those don`t tend to be of the same length as Epic Fantasy. BTY, Have you read A Wrinkle in Time or Cat in the Mirror ? They`re in my ` maybe buy and try in the future` list.
  24. Welcome Madeleine. I love the Donna Leon books ! I`m about 5 books behind in the4 series atm, so it`ll be a while till I get to the Falling in Love one.
