  1. I want that picture! I've not read any Austen (Ooh maybe it's aimed at me! ) but I love the sentiment..
  2. Oh that's good, it must be a relief to know someone is keeping an eye on them for you.. What a way to see in the New Year! Steve is like that too (must be a man thing..) When I first started cooking for him I put more and more on his plate until he actually said to me that he is unable to leave anything on his plate and would probably explode if I kept increasing the size of his meals!
  3. Ah, but then I'll have to wait for Book 3!
  4. Thanks Laura. I gave The Magic Toyshop a 5/5 and then The Bloody Chamber and other stories a 1/5 so I'm a little nervous about this one!
  5. I've not read Slated but I'm presuming now that it is a trilogy so I will pop it on my wish list! I will look up the other Cat Clarke's too.
  6. Sorry to hear about your Dad Kay, is there family local to them that can keep an eye on them for you? I wish we lived closer, my children are dab hands at helping out with leftover pudding, actually so is Steve! It's funny how dinners fill them up yet 5 minutes later they can eat their bodyweight in sugar.. My daughter has always said she has 2 stomachs, a small one for dinners and a larger one for puddings!
  7. I have Fractured and The 5th Wave on my TBR and More Than This on my wish list so looks like I have some good reads to look forward to. I've also read Torn by Cat Clarke and really enjoyed (if thats the word considering the subject matter!) it, what else has she written Michelle?
  8. Sending healing thoughts for Mum and B.I.L, hope they are much better today.
  9. Thanks Steve! I realised I was thinking more about targets than just reading for enjoyment, let's see how it goes. I saw the Nora Roberts books thanks, I may get one or two but only have the kindle app on my iPad and don't enjoy reading on there very much, I definitely prefer my Kobo.
  10. You spend far too much time in alternative dimensions Steve..
  11. I've just spotted you have Birdsong on your TBR list, I hope you get to read it soon, it has to be in my top ten books of all time, not quite as fantastic as Human Traces but very close. I have a copy of Replay that you are welcome to have, much as I liked it I rarely read books twice and I'm not a book collector/hoarder, you may even lick it then but I must warn you it does come from a doggy household and whilst all attempts would be made to post it hair free this isn't always possible!
  12. Wishing you another very productive reading year Claire! I love all your lists and challenges and will be checking your progress regularly.
  13. Hope you have a great reading year Steve!
  14. Happy reading in 2014 Kate, and good luck with your challenge, those books look very intimidating to me, I think I'll wait for the movies.
  15. Happy New Year Devi! I hope you have a happy and healthy year with lots of good books thrown in. I have the two Jamie Oliver books, I've only done a few of the recipes so far but have found them pretty straightforward, although most take a bit longer than he says!
  16. Good luck for 2014 Raven, in your reading but for everything else too.
  17. I need to set aside maybe an hour to look through your lists Sari, the magnitude is rather intimidating and makes my blog look very pathetic! Have a wonderful 2014 in every which way my booky and doggy friend.

  20. Another year, another reading log! Very simple this year, even simpler than last year in that I will have a TBR list and nothing else, no challenges, no targets, no pressure, just reading, reading and more reading. (Hopefully!) Feel free to post.
  21. I bought the Secret History this week so will start it after I finish The Invention of Wings.
