  1. Sofia - Maybe we could swap your cold for some of our rain? It has been relentless the past few weeks.. Noll - I hope you're not feeling too sore now? I've had a good week, Jojo (my pup) is now old enough to start some more interesting training now so on Monday I took her to her first agility class which she loved, unfortunately I'm not having much of a chance to practise at home, despite having a little equipment, because it has been raining so much and the garden is very soggy. Today I took her to a Search and Rescue session (another 3 hours in the rain! ) It isn't something I have any experience of so it was very interesting to learn how the dogs trail a scent. Jojo got to have a go, she was very enthusiastic with trailing me as she is my velcro dog, but she couldn't quite see the relevance of finding anyone else. She changed her mind a little once she realised they had good treats though!
  2. It has been very loyal to the book so far, the acting is a little wooden, but charming in its own way. If you have catch up TV it is on there at the moment.
  3. The Charles Dance one, was that the one you recommended?
  4. Yes that's what I saw at Wembley 2/3 years ago, they were both fantastic although I'm less keen on Biffy's thrashy stuff.. Really need to do some googling..
  5. I have an urge to see The Killers live this year, and I wouldn't mind seeing Muse or Biffy Clyro. Oh and if Young The Giant or Jace Everett are performing, maybe them too! My problem is finding like minded people to go with!
  6. Lovely pics Gaia and Emelee, they're all looking so grown up now!
  7. Rebecca.
  8. In typical cat pose positions! Very cute, and great names too. I should try and get an up to date pic of Candy.. I'm sure Jojo will get her into position for me!
  9. Happy reading Paula, looks like you're off to a good start!
  10. Bless, sometimes you do get lucky, but I'm sure you can attribute much of his obedience and good nature to your training and socialisation. Dylan has always had the role of elder statesman and will put up with an awful lot from my pups but even now, aged nearly 15.5 years, when he puts his paw down they know he's not messing about.
  11. 2 years?! Wow.. He seems to get more and more handsome though. My friend has a working Black Lab around the same age and they look very similar, is he still a good boy? All the male Labs I've known normally try and test the boundaries around 2/3 years old, even my Dylan who is half Lab and very laid back had his moments!
  12. To be honest I don't know. I've not read enough to get an idea as to whether I'll like it or not. I am very tired at the moment so when I go to bed I'm ready to sleep. I'm going to try and read some of it before I go to bed and/or tomorrow when kids are at school and dogs are walked.
  13. Need to try and spend more time reading The Secret History. I'm only managing about 10 pages a night as I keep falling asleep!
  14. She wasn't tired at all, but I was, she has far moe energy than me.. I expect she'll crash out this evening. Before I could have my own dogs I used to borrow other peoples, for walks, training and sleepovers! I gained lots of experience which was invaluable for when we finally had the time, money and space to have one (or three!) of our own.
  15. She did really well, we did a lot more than I expected, mini jumps, tunnel, weaves and the high dog walk already! All good fun though and the other handlers and dogs seem to be friendly. Only one dog looks a bit iffy but the owner seems to have her under control.
  16. Here is a recent pic of my two Cattle Dogs on their rock.. Sadly my old boy cannot make it up the hill to the rock any more, but I do have lots of older pics of him on there. I thought maybe a few of you might like to see how big Jojo is getting, she is now 7 months old and actually went to her first Agility training lesson today!
  17. Nothing so classy as a recipe Kay.. We just chuck in copious amounts of Ferrero Rocher, good quality vanilla ice cream and just enough milk to enable us to suck it through a straw!
  18. I enjoyed The Hunger Games but thought Catching Fire was even better. Hopefully you'll get to see it soon.
  19. She did, though perhaps not as much as me, I was a child/teenager of the 80's after all!
  20. We always save the last 8 to make milkshakes too..
  21. Introduced my daughter to Pretty Woman this evening.. One of my favourite movies of all time.
  22. Ferrero Rocher, I'm not a big fan of chocolate but I love these.
  23. Hey Noll! Great to have you back, hope you can find some books to enjoy and that will reignite your mojo.
  24. Papa Johns pizza, kids treat as Steve went back to work today.
  25. The film was ok but the book was better with much more detail. One of my fave books ever.
