  1. Oh wow! I missed your dog sitting news, it sounds like you had a fantastic time! I too love Jack Russells.. Opinions are a little mixed on them in the UK, due to there being too many that are not bred or raised correctly. There is a gorgeous rough coated boy in Jojo's agility class, his name is Benny and he has the sweetest, most easy going temperament, he can be a bit cheeky, if his owner, who is in her 80''s, doesn't get his lead on quick enough he sometimes tries to join in with whichever dog is currently running the course!
  2. In the post today I received The Psychopath Test from birthday girl Poppyshake. It has of course been popped into the Book Box, I'm secretly hoping it gets pulled out soon. (Well, actually not that secretly now!! )
  3. I wonder where it will be in London, I couldn't see anything in the article that said, maybe in Covent Garden where his story started? Though I can imagine rent would be very high there. I'll have to pay a visit at some point...and take lots of piccies obviously!
  4. I don't know, they probably can't get very far unless it is a planned break out and they have a taxi booked. It is a scary thought, and I'm very glad security has improved over the years.. I used to worry when the children were at three different schools, did I have to pick up in the order of age, locality, or maybe favouritism?
  5. Just finished a very tasty omelette with bacon, spinach, onion, peppers, goats cheese and garlic..with a dash of smoked paprika for taste.. Now for a square of dark chocolate then will be hours before I need to eat again!
  6. Beautiful sunny morning for a dog walk today.. Rather muddy underfoot so dogs are filthy though!
  7. I finished Summer at the Lake which was much better than I expected, very predictable but nicely written and enjoyable. Eldest son has now pulled Summer Island by Kristin Hannah from the Book Box.. She has written a couple of my favourite books but also also a couple I wasn't so keen on so fingers crossed this is a good one!
  8. Final Broadchurch episode in less than an hour!!!!!!!
  9. Shame, it would be nice to see them.. my Dad is an artist too. Sadly it wasn't a talent I inherited!
  10. One episode of Call The Midwife and two Episodes of The 100.. Time for a read and bed now!
  11. We will hopefully watch it tomorrow, as Maddie and I usually watch it while Charlie is at badminton.. I'll be careful not to comment until you've seen it.
  12. Great review of The Psychopath Test Kay, I've added it to my wish list as it sounds like an interesting, if slightly macabre, read. The Broadmoor Siren is still sounded at 10am every Monday, thankfully in the 14 years we've been living here I've not heard it at any other time! How scary to have been on your own for so long when it happened to you. I've always thought that the clever time to break out of Broadmoor would be 10am on a Monday......
  13. Broadchurch... Love it!
  14. I really enjoyed Half Bad when I read it last summer, the next in the series, Half Wild, is out next month.
  15. Mackerel and avocado salad.
  16. PSG v Chelsea... Great game, and fantastic referee to cope with the emotion and physicality of it all.
  17. It's beautifully sunny and fresh in Surrey.. Annoyingly I have extra kids here for sleepovers and an appointment at 1030 so I won't be able to walk the dogs until lunchtime, hope the sun lasts!
  18. I agree re the JP books, I've only read two. My Sisters Keeper and The Pact but I just found them ok, and the endings both left me feeling very disgruntled, almost like they were written just for shock value..
  19. My Book Box has given me Summer at the Lake by Erica James.. I'm not even sure why I bought this one.. Oh well, fingers crossed it's a good one!
  20. The Sky is Everywhere was one of my favourite reads last year. Jandy Nelson has a new book die out at the beginning of April that I am looking forward to, called I'll Give You The Sun. From the author of The Sky Is Everywhere, a radiant novel that will leave you laughing and crying - all at once. For fans of John Green, Gayle Forman and Lauren Oliver. Jude and her twin Noah were incredibly close - until a tragedy drove them apart, and now they are barely speaking. Then Jude meets a cocky, broken, beautiful boy as well as a captivating new mentor, both of whom may just need her as much as she needs them. What the twins don't realize is that each of them has only half the story and if they can just find their way back to one another, they have a chance to remake their world.
  21. Don't you hate it when that happens... but at least you've had the opportunity to warn others! Hopefully you will love A Dog's Purpose, I found it a little slow to get going, and to get used to the style, after all it's not common to be narrated to by a dog , but once it does get going it's wonderful and will especially ring true with dog lovers and owners.
  22. Over halfway through The Fever Tree, am enjoying it very much (thank you Book Box) but the main character is doing my head in a bit.. we need interactive books where you can put your hands in to give them a little shake!
  23. I hadn't either but still love it! Still mkes me cry! I think that and Cocktail are the only two Tom Cruise films I have ever really liked..
  24. Top Gun!!!!!!!
