  1. I'm not sure if it classes as disturbing but Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffenegger certainly unsettled me!
  2. Am enjoying The Moon Field, a book set around the time of WWI, one of my favourite eras for books.. A complete change from the magical world of Half Wild. I like to vary my books so I don't read anything too similar one after the other, does anyone else like to do that?
  3. It's Sunday so it has to be a roast, roast chicken today.
  4. I'm much the same, but The Angel's Game is in my Book Box so I will be reading it at some point!
  5. Salmon, egg and avocado salad..
  6. Fast & Furious 7... Does exactly what it says on the tin!
  7. I literally finished it a few minutes ago.. A brilliant read I thought, finished on such a cliffhanger too!! I wonder how long it will be until book three is ready?
  8. Guardians of the Galaxy, thought it was ok but I'll only bother with the sequel if the kids want to see it.
  9. Thanks Gaia. I'm a big fan of character driven books as I find these books are so much more descriptive, I have to be in the mood though. It is a short book but I didn't feel short changed which can happen with shorter books occasionally. I'm currently reading Half Wild by Sally Green and at the moment I'm finding it better than Half Bad, it's less stilited and the story is hurtling along and taken a few twists I wasn't expecting!!
  10. FA Cup, Blackburn v Liverpool..
  11. I'm thoroughly enjoying Half Wild, it's quite a fast moving book and some of the chapters are rather short so I'm finding it hard to put down.. Perhaps not the ideal book for the school holidays!
  12. I'm now thinking the same about Kristin Stewart, I watched her in ''Still Alice' last week and she played exactly the same type of role with exactly the same mannerisms.. She's not particularly versatile that's for sure!
  13. Great jar Kylie, I think the Book Box is a good tool for my reading but I don't feel beholden to it and like you am happy to pick up other books that appeal in between.
  14. Hmm, I'm not sure, I wasn't sure The Originals would work but it does, I still have some episodes of Season 6 to watch so maybe it will depend on how it ends with Elena and Damon..
  15. Ah ok, maybe the same as grilling? We don't have a broil option on UK ovens.. Never thought of grilling asparagus.
  16. Enjoying Half Wild by Sally Green and have bought two new books.. I'll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson Only Ever Yours by Louise O'Neill.
  17. Gorgeous here too, so have had a glorious dog walk and three hours gardening, still 19 degrees at 6pm so the back door is open while I cook dinner. Oops. That should read 16 degrees.. 19 degrees inside!
  18. Hi Virginia, we love asparagus, I usually steam it, and occasionally pan fry.. Can I ask what broiling is?
  19. Pretty Woman.. Seen it goodness knows how many times but still love it!
  20. The Moon Field has popped out of my Book Box but I've started Half Wild by Sally Green instead as I've heard mixed reviews about it and want to decide for myself before I see any spoilers..
  21. Indeed! And he has bulked up more for this one.. Sadly he kept his shirt on for almost all the movie.
  22. I have three episodes on my planner.. Just waiting for Steve to go back to Iraq so I can enjoy them in peace.. It's impossible to lust over Klaus when your other half is in the room!
  23. Tempanyaki grill with beef, chicken and salmon, with sauté potatoes, green beans and asparagus. Lovely... And heathy!
